Has anyone here ever felt that they were born in the wrong time period? Yesteryear was better, not so many false people running around. Family's were stronger, neighbours, towns, and the country was stronger because folks believed in each other. People would stop if they saw someone stranded, you could let your kids walk along the road without worry,etc... I kinda wish it was still the 80s,MUCH BETTER TIME!! (In almost every way) I hate the way the world has become,NO QUALITY,THE CHEAPEST GARBAGE THEY CAN MAKE.... EVERYONE IS OUT FOR $$$ AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT DOING GOOD ANYMORE.... I feel bad for people that were born in the 30s,40s cause things have changed SO MUCH during thier lifetime it isnt funny! They saw GOOD to go BAD (As far as quality) It really is a shame...... What happend to the world?
i - particularly - do not i will never be reborn in another age, so i try to be happy here and now even though it seems im gonna have to stay home this 4day weekend i happen to have ... its saddening
that's funny cause Reverand JC posted something interesting about that in "hippies" ^^ be here now, those are wise words i trust
Yeah, I should have been a warrior. Defending my noble Ireland from the piggish brutes of England with nothing but my sword and my wits. The 80's? Lal.
America has gone to shit. Lots of other places have gone to shit too. The past has already been written. Whatever was good about the past, it also lead to now, so there must have been something fucked up about then that lead us to where we are. We have a chance to change the direction that things are going. That is one thing that the past does not have: a chance to change the future. That is one thing to be grateful for.
Don't lose hope. Look at it this way - if this WAS your time, and you DO have a role to play, you wouldn't know it. Not yet. Did Galileo know he was to make major contributions to the way we think about the world? Einstein knew he would revolutionize physics?
My grandmother was born in the 1890's, saw a covered wagon heading farther west, heard of the first airplane to fly, cars became common, electrictity and telephones came and radio followed then by tv. What changes she saw! I was born in the 40's, the changes in things seem to never stop. New possibilities in all material fields but my soul gets sadder every year. The world is crazier, most leaders are vile, cops are rampant and ruthless, the rich have seperated from common man, we are their utility and amusement...disposable. Although foolish to dream of it I wonder what it would have felt like to been born into a tribal life deep in the jungle...another time, another continent, another nation, another race.... To live using only wit and skill, appealing to various spirits to stay safe and fed. I'm very tired of all of this yet I put words on a screen and whine to the world...what a fool, I.
No. & I find it silly every time people say it was better [insert time period] or "I feel things are about to come crashing down any minute." -- this shit has been being said forever.
But eventually the sun is going to turn into a red giant and consume the earth. So odd's are someone will be right sometime when they predict the end of the world.
I don't think so. Expressing yourself can a good thing. Also, change always begins with someone whining
I think you're romanticizing. What makes you think there weren't false people or all-around assholes in another time? Homo Sapiens are Homo Sapiens no matter what time period you find them in. Just as many morons back then as there were innovators. Just as many mercenaries as there were charitable folk.
for many people, this is not a very happy time. there have always been problems. things are pretty bad though.
yes, i was definitely born in the wrong time. i should have been a teenager in 2015, when they had hoverboards.
No Sometimes there's a man... a man that fits right in with the place and time... That man is the Lodog...
