I just seen this commercial on T.v and I wanted to know what you all thought about it. I cant believe Ellen would say something like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=465dRpSGjR4
Everyone buys the outside first.. If you buy anything its cause the label and package. So who cares if they have brains. Do they look good on the box is all that matters.. Maybe you missed all the artificial characters on TV.. Its based on Attraction , not intellect .. Ellen is a commercial pig anyways... She cares about a Pay Check first.. She endorsed credit cards too.. It must be nice when you dont have to worry about what kinda money you have on them.
You can't believe 'Ellen' would say something like that because you assume that she's not a shallow whore. Always remember: when faced with a contradiction, check your premises - you will find that one of them is wrong.
Yes, I've read the major ones. I just find it a bit sad that someone would relegate such an old concept to 'something Ayn Rand came up with'. Aristotle... John Locke... countless other much more influential thinkers than Ayn Rand... It was a poor way to phrase the point - I know what it has to do with Rand, but not why the poster chose to single her out.
Yah I can see where your coming from. It must be nice to not worry about losing your place or not knowing when your next meal is. I don't like to watch tv much but it is obvious that they have a certain way they want their characters to be. I know shes just selling a product but still.
The poster could be a feminist, or Russian, or might agree more with Rand than Aristotle or Locke. Plus Rand is a bit more recent than the other eh?! Why does it matter who she referenced anyways?!
All I did is see this commercial and post it for opinions. I am not singling out Ayn Rand. I was just curious of what others thought about the message Ellen was making in this commercial.
What do I think about her message? I think it matters about as much as what I ate for breakfast 3 weeks ago. Who cares? Aren't there bigger issues in the world than this? PS--Ayn Rand had a penis and doesn't deserve to be quoted except in mockery.
It doesn't. But given the general opinion of Rand and her ideas, it seemed like a way of belittling the point, which is one shared by sources generally considered more legitimate. I never made reference to anything you said, outside of my first reply. You didn't bring up Rand. What makes you say that? I see nothing wrong with her points, though she may have come on a bit strong at times...
