sadly statistics dont count the people buying pills from the black market,..

i personally feel the percentage of americans on some kind of mood altering medication be it opiates,psych meds,or nerve pills is indeed a big reason why americans are so complaisant about whats happening..

i mean look around these forums and see how many people pop pills on a regular basis..

but ive already said that...

Yup. I concur.... And sometimes it sucks. For example, in these parts, it's nearly impossible to keep stuff like that out of your life all together because everyone you know is either prescribed a dozen different things or is involved in the black market pill trade, or both. And then there are the thieves who figure out who has the prescriptions and they steal the meds when nobody's looking... Damn, either the official statistics on how many people are actually medicated can't be right, or we are living in a "hot spot" of illness....

 

now wait just a minute, i consider myself among that minority!
wasnt always that way, but has been for more yrs. than i can remember!
i was addicted to painkillers before i was out of 6th grade due to massive
migrains that would last 3-4 days by the time i got out of jr.high i was eating them like candy for fun, turns out that they were triggerd by the light spectrum of the flourecent lights in the school, it was partly my case that the state of mass. changed the bulbs. havnt had a nother for as long as i can remember, but when my back goes out a muscule relaxer, or a perc. goes a long way! but only at times like that do i go there, back then they were a godsend they would not get rid of it, but lessend the severity!
so imho, opiats are wonderful when needed!

oh i have not used pills for recreation scince about 74-75

 

actually its rampant every were i go, i go back were i grew up in suberbia half the folks i know that i thought were smarter are all pill heads, now im in a rural area and they are both pill and meth heads go figure? glad i got over that while i was still young!
and my last post i said 74-75 oops more like 76-77 then a relaps 82 after a stint i the hospital geting morphine iv. verey quickly got over that!
i myself cant trust a pill head!

i take the Zoloft ~ started it when i got depressed over the HepC stuff, including the treatment. i also take Synthroid, a synthetic thyroid hormone, because my thyroid (gizzard!) had to be removed, completely. And i smoke herb.

The only downer i like is alcohol ~ either Miller's High Life, Carolan's Irish Cream or "The Drink," 1 part vodka, 3 parts grapefruit juice and 3 parts Fresca ~ but i don't get to drink very often because of the HepC.

And that's the extent of my drug habits. Wimpy, i know, but i was built for comfort, not for speed... :rofl:

 

shouldnt be drinking at all with hep c.. bad bad bad...

my moms been taking synthroid for ever.... she's even older than you.. I know that's hard to believe ...

Nope. It sort of rebounded ~ after an initial excellent reaction, it came back.

i had hoped to try to do the treatment again, but that's not the way it works, evidently. You only get one chance...

 

Quit the Booze... that's about the worse thing you can do.. I saw that Tex-ass might get medical..mj .. a number of the mmj states cover -C- ... if not you'll have to come next door to NM..
