Actually, Grim, that's more of a CT of HHB's, and since he's produced facts to back up his reasoning, i'd say it's you that are interrupting this thread with opinions...

 

The idea that capitalism caused this mess is the result of brainwashing since we don't have true capitalism in this country and haven't for many, many years. When you have the Federal Reserve printing endless amounts of money and manipulating the value of the currency, that is not a free market capitalist economy, but rather a managed economy. This is no more capitalist than socialist. It's really a combination of the two, but clearly heading in a purely socialistic direction, where the government manages everything including the economy itself. They created this crisis to offer the so-called "solution," which entails even more government management of the economy -- full management of the economy. This is called SOCIALISM -- not capitalism.

It has nothing to do with capitalism as you have been brainwashed to believe.

Socialism is socialism, whether the money is distributed upwards or downwards. The outcome is the same in that you have monopoly control in the hands of the government, which is used to completely control the people.

Also, there never was anything called "true socialism." It is nothing more than a naive ideology that has never existed the way its proponents envision. Karl Marx was working for the bankers. The Comminist Manifesto was simply an appeal to the public, to get them behind their own enslavement. When Karl Marx referred to "the people" (the "proletariat") and the workers, he was really referring to the state. Under socialism and Marxism the people control nothing, while the state controls everything. Why do you think that so much of what Marx proposed in "his" Manifesto has become a reality today in this supposedly "capitalist" society?

Today, we have the corporations controlling the state, so this is more along the lines of corporatism (corporate socialism/fascism), but the outcome is still the same.

 

So are 3rd world countries with Socialism they have a rich ruling class and mass amounts or poor then when the socialist government falls apart the leaders and rulers flee with suitcases of $100. bills.

You just described socialism/Marxism perfectly! That's because these countries you refer to are socialist/Marxist hellholes, where you have all the wealth consolidated in the hands of the ruling elite, while the people live an enslaved existence as peasants. That is socialism/Marxism/communism/Leninism.

The reason the US is becoming more like this is because the US is moving in the direction of unfettered socialism. When the US was more of a truly capitalistic society, it was never the way it is today. The average person could compete and make a living for themselves. Socialism seeks to eliminate all competition, and THAT is why we are where we are today.

Learn the difference between capitalism and socialism. You are getting the two confused. Socialism is simply MONOPOLY CAPITALISM.

 

Which of my opinions were you referring too? Tho one where HHB reminds me of Dale Dribble? That was the only remark in my post that could have been taken as an opinion. The rest was what you call insults.

If most people live in abject poverty,

then the ones that live in luxury would have to give up the luxuries,

until there were enough for EVERYONE.

Folks, the POOREST people in the U.S. live in DECADENT LUXURY compared to a poor person living in China, or Africa, or pretty much ANYwhere else!

In order to have a true Socialism, the poorest of the poor are (or should be) at the top of the list of helpee's, which means OUR poor get to experience starving homelessness, because there are folks MORE needy than us...

I think my post was misunderstood by a couple of people.I am not in favor of socialism.I'm in favor of how things used to be done in the US.For example "proper" regulations on big business.High tax rates on the ultra wealthy(multimillionaires).Even little things , the US used to ban prescription drug ads,also there was a limit to how many commercials could be shown on tv.etc. etc. The list can go on.In other words NOT a government run by and for the rich.It's a complicated issue but you get the idea.
