I’m not sure why this particular question has been going around, but recently in my experience it seems to be a popular one. So which of these two do you prefer, if either? Do you have an opinion on which had the greater impact? Personally I don’t think much of U2 outside Joshua Tree... to be honest I’m not even terribly familiar with them besides singles outside that album.
I do like the Doors but in the grand scheme of things they were Average ! and if Morrison had not died they would have become less than average !
Which band rocks and grooves better than the Doors? Ludicrous statement! They can at best be equalled, like by CCR. (and then they say: 'you can't argue about taste' ...Obviously hasn't visited hipforums! )
I am biased. I really really like U2. Aside from CSI (and CSI: Miami?) I don't know that much of the Who. They play them excessively on satellite radio; which I guess is better than overplaying Casey Jones or something, but it's not the songs that I know... It'll be like some Who b-side.
Yes Morrison was mentally unstable another Sid Barrett in the making. Their four years in the limelight ( 1967-71 ) was indeed about all they could have mustered. Within Morrison's body of work are many clues to his coming mental collapse. A debate about who rocks better cannot be won due the fact opinions are highly subjective. What tickles my ear might not impress another at all.
I for one will really try not to hold it against you. But I will be honest here: can't make any promises. Hope the rest will also be forgiving (but not everyone is as tolerant as me)
Are you implying a mentally unstable frontman/singer by default obstructs a rock band in hitting the proverbial hammer on the head where it comes to rocking like a mofo?
