Now as i am sure you all know Obama called an end to this war just a year or so ago, and our soldiers were for the most part I guess supposed to be coming home. But my question is does anyone really think this war needed to last as long as it did? I know there would be many who would argue that the war wasn't even necessary in the first place, and that it was all just an overreaction to 9/11, but even with the attack on us was it really needed to go into such a war, and for as long as we did. We kept changing who our target was. First it was AlQueda, then it was Hussein, then it was back to AlQueda and the Taliban. How are we supposed to fight a war if we don't even know who we are really supposed to be targeting? And we hanged Hussein back in '06, why did we stay there for 5 more years? I'm all about the American spirit and protecting the mother country but jeez. We entered this war knowing full well we did not have the money for it. I mean yea, Bill Clinton had created an economic surplus while he was in office, but there was no way our politicians possibly thought we could foot the bill for this. And now look where we are. Is it so crazy to understand why so many people don't want to get involved in politics?
Its not difficult: the USA are occupying all those countries in the middle east because they have oil and for strategic reasons. Most of the worlds oil is there and thats the main reason. In Afghanistan they are occupying to have control over the worlds biggest opium production.

It is all very well there being these various minerals there, another matter mining them. What mining company is going to Afghanistan where they cannot be protected and it is nigh impossible to do that. The opium trade is different the locals grow it, transport it and they must just love the fact that they are damaging the west and making lots of money for the Taliban too.

I think the current situation is bogus. Osama is dead, and yet we still have people in Afghanistan. Seems a bit foolish, the Taliban won't be eradicated, so we're just invading this country and stirring things. I see little possibility of improvement while we're there.

I am guessing Operation Iraqui Freedom 03-11 (OIF) since this is the one the United States recently withdrew from - Operation Enduring Freedom 01-present [(OEF) (NATO...which is most US anyway)] is the war in Afghanistan. Either way - both wars should NOT have lasted as they should let alone begin. These wars are not about 9/11 - 9/11 happened to create this fear and to get support from the US citizens to go to war (like they have a say anyway ) These wars are about greed/oil... oh and making countries democracies (the wonderful thriving US government is so good at democracy they can go into other countries to "save" them... yeah ok) so we can scratch that idea. The reason the changes of enemy is easy - they are not really a threat. It is convenient that Hillary Clinton can just speak with Al Quadia and the Taliban, how the government found Osama bin Laden years after he was said to be killed in PAKISTAN. It is sadly humorous that after knowing the Islamic rituals throwing Osama bin Laden into the ocean would seriously happen, it is sadly ridiculous that Iran is being threatened over such ludicrous to please Israel, (hope for oil $ power)... since that really is the only United States ally that has problems with said Republic (Egypt and Saudi Arabia are not threatening the Zionist regime. ) NOW there is propaganda of Hezbollah to attack the US, bringing Lebanon in. Oh don't let me forget Libya - Ghaddafi was going to be proceeded by Saif al Islam I am sure; who is a very intelligent and would have been well liked in my opinion... but why did US get into that? OIL. MONEY. GREED. It has been like this throughout humankind. The same reason the US had sneakily passed a bill to occupy Central/Southern Africa (active for months now) .. months after billions of tons of oil were discovered. Now in the US look and listen there is Africa propaganda on top of the Jewish and Islam propaganda all over caused by the Christian Imperialist Brittian, I mean National Socialist Party, woo sorry my keyboard is odd... i meant US, to make it seem ok to people to be killing occupying the soil and killing the people. US is losing the Afghan war and really should withdraw , has Russia not done enough? but they are sending more troops in due to the "conflicts" with Iran. So from 9/11 now there is conflict with: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Libya, Lebanon, (Syria, Uganda, Somalia to extents) ... for greed. Ha. Well wtf. Now US, France, UK, Germany, Russia, China, North Korea, Israel, Australia, Poland, Itali, TURKEY*, Spain and all of the other NATO forces I did not mention - are all involved.
