I'm from America...but I just wanted to say I love England...maybe it's because I like so many british bands, but what's it like over there? just curious XD Hopefully I'll be able to go there sometime. That would be epic!
Hello... Awwwthe UK is cool...n it seems even cooler since i am starting to travel around the UK more... Hehe im bias cos the UK's all i now... Wot UK/British bands do you like?
english, scottish, irish men are HOT! oh my god those accents! makes me melt. plus england is our mother country so that's pretty cool. australia is her son who went to prison, US is her drunken, spoiled fratboy son who outdid himself, and canada is her shy, introverted child who has always lived in the shadow of asshole united states.
The so-called "cool bands" do not reflect what the UK is really like. They project an unrealistic view of what it is like here. Sadly, we don't all wear skinny jeans and go on anti-war marches. However, the UK is a fairly decent place to live, all in all. I'd highly recommend you come and visit us for a brief while, as you might reconsider your opinion. America far outstrips the UK in many ways, you just need to find the right places to visit.
I like some of the uk accents. But some of them are just trashy. Still, an accent outside ones immediate gene pool tends to be more attractive, even if it's ignorant, uneducated and low class.
Both countries have their positives, both have their negatives. If you ever visit, be sure to visit not just England, but the other countries too.
you don't hear anyone waxing poetic about american accents. i'll just return a bit of honesty. a dirtbag is a dirtbag no matter where they're from. anyone who doesn't know some accents are like nails on chalkboard is just undereducated.
You need to visit England. A friend of mine from the States visited, and everyone he met seemed to swoon over his Ohio accent. I found it a bit disconcerting, personally.
lmao...funny stuff XD But yea I've always wanted to visit sometime. Many people I know have gone there before, and they all said it's amazing. And as far as british bands, I love the beatles, the who, led zeppelin, the kinks, etc...mostly bands from the 60's. But yea I'll admit America can suck at times...we tend to think we're the greatest country on earth, when we're really not. I can think of other countries that are better for certain reasons. -here in America, we don't have good healthcare. -We depend on other countries for certain goods, such as oil. -Obesity is a huge problem (We're lazy and love fast food XD). -we have a huge violent history, and have participated in many wars (which were complete wastes of time, in my opinion). -gay marriage isn't allowed in most states. -many schools are failing (not that THIS ONE is the country's fault though...it's mainly the students' unwillingness to try). -rasism/sexism/ageism is still a problem today...as it's always been since the country first formed. I could go on and on about this...but I know there are other countries out there that are better than the U.S...anyone agree?
hey, guys, i read my first post again about accents. i just want y'all to know it's sour grapes and bitterness, which i'm sure the better part of you know. i have a HORRIBLE accent. no one anywhere would ever fall for it or find it charming.
Um. It's pretty good I mean you're immensely unlikely to starve or go without healthcare or get killed violently or die of preventable diseases here. It's one of the best places to live in the world, in truth, and we are incredibly lucky, before we even think about bands from the 1960s...
A lot of these are problems over here too...though you're catching up to us on the "number of wars" thing Regarding healthcare, I've heard the NHS getting some bad press in America. What's the deal there?
