It appears by doing crunching the numbers Obama threads were huge before 2015. Then people got kinda bored. But where did Obama store those 150 million plastic coffins?

are you sure? i'm far from an expert in how this stuff works, but mosquitoes eat nectar, so maybe there would be plant DNA in that?

 

It definitely wasn't a nectar leaf.

 

I never considered that, a rather interesting possibility.

The thing is that some seeds remain viable against all kinds of weird odds. And even more retain DNA for far longer than animal tissue. An example closer to home/age is the recovery of peppercorns from 15th century Spanish shipwrecks.

But the really obvious aspect to this is that amber, the material that encases the dragonflies and mosquitoes from the Jurassic and Triassic, is tree sap. It's sticky as tar and snares everything from bugs to spores to bacteria to pollen on its way down the side of a tree. So the preserved DNA sources for plants are probably very easy to find.
