    The Time of the Hippies

The grooviest and most far out decade of the century,
A time when hippies and flower children wanted to be free
Everyone wore bell bottoms, bandanas, tie-dyed, and sandals,
Had long hair or afros, burned incense, potpouri, or candles
Because of women's lib, there was the burning of the bras,
The hippies called cops pigs and did not like all of the laws,
Grooved to Jimi Hendrix, In-a-godda-da-vida and more,
Like Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Grateful Dead, Guess Who, and the Doors
Said things like, "Make love, not war!, Groovy, Dig," and "Psychadelic."
Hip men were called cats as the women were called chicks
The woodstock festival was held in the year of '69,
Hip cats and chicks grooved to music and were feeling fine
