You know, I was going to say if you've had trouble with the law, or if you know someone who has. Some people just find it harder to conform to the rules and laws of society. And up until that point, that's not their fault. Whether we are good or bad is defined by the choices we make and our actions, not what is going on in our heads. When I went to RC grade school, we even had a name for that. We'd say that person has a heavier cross to bear. And they deserve our support and understanding, and our compassion. Until they break the law of course. Then they have to be held accountable, whatever led up to that. It is sad though sometimes. There are certain conditions that do cause a person to be more likely to cause crime. Our teacher in 1996 was telling us about Jacobs Syndrome, or XYY Syndrome. A man is born with an extra Y sex chromosone. And it is not his or anyone's fault. The Y chromosome comes from the man's sperm. And defective sperm can be causes by many things including injury and age. But people like that need more love and support. Until they break the law, like I said. But they need support and care for things like finding jobs, substance abuse, homelessness, poverty, domestic abuse, etc. To avoid the downward spiral that often leads to crime.
