Oh, it's wonderful. Whereas the original was hysteria against an anti-femminyst backlash (men murdering their wives and replacing them with robots) SPOILER ALERT: In the new one: 1) The men are all fat losers from new-economy do-nothing companies (AOL, etc) whereas the women they destroy (with implanted microchips no murder) are high powered executives with real useful companies. 2) Men are shown to be basically mental midget frat boys whining about how women are so much better so they have to be taken down by force. 3) The driving force behind this is REALLY a woman cause obviously no man would be able to do this kind of thing - only a woman could. Christ.
I thought it was going to be crude, but it turned out to be rather funny. That Shovelhead sig is beautiful. The classic bikes always look cool, but I heard they don't run as nice.
Funny? In what sense? That men are fat, lazy, whiny and stupid? Yay how droll. As for older bikes, yeah they don't oil as well, the heads don't flow as nicely and the electrics usually suck, but that's nothing that can't be fixed.
as a woman with many find men in my life, i reject such idiocy outright. it's insulting to many people i love very much.
That movie sucked. If I had made it, it would have been a horror film. Women dragged out of their beds and night then they would scream as they go through a painful operation and are made into robots. Ahahahaha, and it would scare the shit out of people. I'd have to add in some psycotic twists, like one of the womans chips becomes defective, and then she starts killing people, and in the end, everybody would die. Edit: I could also do some really nasty sex scences, I mean, sex with ROBOTS! Think about all the crazy things they could do.
i didnt want to see it because i knew it would be offensive but i did anyway. how could those men treat their wives like their property? its terrible.
Well its a remake, and at the time of the original it was making a statement....but this movie was absolutely horrible and modern hollywood style ridiculous i don't think anything this stupid can really succeed in being offensive.
Robot super models with shotguns. It could be like the borg, and then they kill all the men and enslave all the rest of the women in the world, and then all the humans die.
haha, I thought that was the direction the movie was headed towards the end...it really got out of control there
Wow....all of you managed to completely miss the points of both movies and the book. I'm actually shocked by that. Perhaps you have to understand Ira Levin in order to understand his books. I loved the book and enjoyed both movies. It has nothing to do with feminists being smarter then men, or fat guys who need to have robots made of their wives. Go read the book, learn about Ira Levin, watch both movies with a little bit more of a critical mind. You might enjoy it a bit more.
So you enjoyed the remake? and yea, the original story has nothing to do with feminists thinking they are smarter...more a comment on the social status of women at the time it was written.
I thought it was funny because they made fun of the stereotype of the perfict family. See how the man feels to be left at home or in the dust while the wife is makeing the money. I thought it was just going to be a bunch of nasty shit about women. You know look at the figure not the person and was to some degree, but it made it's point without getting lost in it. I hate to see all that stuff on tv and in magazines of look pretty and you will be popular. The truth is is that I see that all as a bunch of crap. Leave pitcture perfect behind and find what works for you and you life. Find something that is real to you. They made that point, or at least that is how I saw it. I am a teenage girl I hate talking on the phone love to fish and am fine in old jeans and a Zeppelin T-shirt. I don't fit the standerd teenage girl and not all men will fill the spot made in this movie.
i saw it a a friends house. I wasnt goign to see it. It was prety horrible...I didn't know it was a remake.
