Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? Between all of Lisa's new age interests and vegetarianism, Homer's mom being this hippie-running-from-the-law, I think Matt Groening is a closet hippie. Or am I way off?
Or when Homer moved out and lived with a gay couple for a while. Homer is a real liberal guy, surprisingly openminded for a beer bellied tv addict.
I too have recognized a few of these and wondered myself King of the hill is opposite... but what do you expect for Texas. I remember the camping episode .
homers a former pot smoker, lived with some gays, allows lisa to be a buddist, eats a psycedlic pepper and trips balls, and goes to cuba and chills with castro.
I think my favorite show is when Homer tries to help the two guys who are bottling juice and he adds the greens from out behind the barn. The whole town gets happy. There was also the show where he went to visit his childhood home, an old commune. Kathi
i know what you mean.. i live in TX. But let me assure you.. there are alot of us free thinkers out here.
I recently saw the episode where Homer gets some Medical Marijuana and gets very high. Psychedelicized. One of the coolest Simpson episodes with great music. It portrays getting high in a GOOD light.
The Simpsons writers have been pointing out the hypocracy of US society for years. Aren't all their jokes like this? My fave is the one on the freemasons (child-fucking satanists)
But to me, that's the beauty of King of the Hill.... they are way over the top, and it's just hilarious, more like they are poking fun at their ideals....
The one where Homer gets that medicine to make his hair grow is great - Hair is played lol! I also liked the one that Paul & Linda McCartney appeared in
haha i love the simpsons....... "u wud of just been a hippie, without a care in the world, and long luxiourus hippie hair..." -grandpa LOL
