Alright so instead of having a million new threads for bands we want other people to listen to, or mentioning it in the convo thread and having it be lost in posts 20min later, let's start one main thread to share bands we must force other people to listen to. Thread rules: 1. Only one main rule, when linking to a band's website or myspace or something, Post in big letters the name of the band and their relative genre so people skimming through can see and not have to listen to a million bands they don't like My first contribution, from Brooklyn, New York SeaSick - Psychedelic but more of a darker side(with a bit of female Jim Morrison and a tad bit of punk thrown in) http://www.myspace.com/seasicksongs Powered by pineapples! I miss they're old sounds like description, back when it was "Sounds like: the sound of a million hymens bursting at once"
A Band of Bees- A psychedelic chillout band The album that I really like is Sunshine Hit Me http://www.myspace.com/thebeesofficial
Mates Of State- An Indie rock husband wife duo consisting mainly of drums and organ/synth http://www.myspace.com/matesofstate They fuckin own
Morphine - 3 piece jazz-blues-rock band consisting of two string fretless slide bass, drums, and sax. Great baritone vocals. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=83620061
Explosions In The Sky- An instrumental post-rock band whose ranging guitar soundscapes blow minds The drummer is actually from my city http://www.myspace.com/explosionsinthesky
Boris - Smile; psychedelic doom metal / noise / drone / shoegaze http://rapidshare.com/files/170072992/Smile.rar.html My thoughts: "This album smokes! I read some interviews and apparently the band had a sort of...satirical approach to the whole thing. Now that I know that, I can sort of hear it, but I prefer to think of the album as the psychedelic masterpiece that it is. Somehow, the songs are all appreciable on their own, yet the album is just as easily digested as a whole. For this niche, that's a pretty laudable accomplishment. The first song is a PYG cover, the same song they covered with Merzbow. There's some nice guitar from Michael Kurihara (Rainbow was a Boris & Kurihara collab) that saves the track from being a bore. The next two songs are fuzzed out rockers, like the bulk of Pink. I think they're better than anything on Pink though. They're more accessible, the vocal melodies are more easily discerable. It's also mixed very differently from Pink. The rest of the album is just....amazing. It's Acid Mothers Temple with Boris' sense of groove. It's Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Earthless, Jimi Hendrix all thrown into a blender. Yet, it manages to sound like BORIS. This album knocked me off the fence, Boris kicks ass. I think Pink is a bookend album, some of the middle tracks are okay, but the first and last track are so much better than the rest of the album it's ridiculous. I dug Absolutego a lot, and liked what I heard from Amplifier Worship and Akuma no Uta. And the collab. with Sunn O))). Anyway, enough rambling. This is an awesome fucking album, get it if you haven't already. The last track features Stephen O'Malley of Sunn fame on guitar, and I never thought his ominous drone could be so blissful. A stunning achievement." Jex Thoth; doom metal think grace slick singing for black sabbath while everyone smokes hash mixed with opium www.myspace.com/totemdoom

Not to be an ass; but. OCMS isn't bluegrass. They would be Jugband music similar to post WWII jugband.
Abhorred - some siqq death/grind/thrash stuff I'll recommend the EP "None Shall Be Spared" because it's available for free on their myspace and has awesome album artwork. Their singer is definitely my favorite screamer. I broke the formula, but it had to be shared.
