So most everyone knows that The Dead have decided to take down soundboard recordings from Archive.org. If you ask me this was going to happen eventually but what of it? Will they relent and put them back? Is this the end of an era? Should Deadheads be upset? I for one understand the move completely but can't help but wonder if it would have happened if Jerry were still alive. It just doesn't feel right.
I remember fiending for those beautiful soundboards all the time....I got to enjoy them from the start. It sucks that others missed out.
i also miss the SBDs, but hopefully a change will be made and we can all enjoy them again but until that day comes we must exchange our recordings and offer up B+P for others.
I was trading all the time a couple years ago! (sharingthegroove, anyone!?) I loved doing B&Ps for people.
Yeah I love B&Ps as well but there are some shows on the archive that would be really hard to find out there. Bob said the decision to take them down was unanimous and that he couldn't put his kids through college giving away stuff for free. Phil said the plan wasn't well thought out and maybe something could be done to please everyone. I say it was coming and it is certainly they're right to take them down........ I mean, its they're lifes work. it still sucks Grateful Dead forever
