The world is such a large, populated, and complex mix of things that political movements and decisions are unlikely to have enough impact to change things very much. The last dollar that you spent (that is, what you "voted" for with that dollar) probably had more of an effect on the world than a vote for a congressional candidate, for instance.

The question we face in this election is whether we want someone of above average education, intelligence, and experience to be the next president? Or do we want a pair of people who are clearly mentally lazy, morally unfit, and running a government that's been stuffed full of Republican blind loyalists (all intent on stealing anything and everything they can as quickly as possible) for the last 8 years?

Personally, I think McCain/Palin are so dangerous that I would almost rather Bush simply declare himself dictator for life. Liberals don't vote, so no matter how popular Obama is in the polls, he has no chance in the election. And even Bush/Cheney is sanity and moderation when compared to McCain.

 

That's assuming that people of above average intellect even care about the public interest and not selfish interest.

 

I don't like her. Snide, arrogant, sarcastic and aggressive woman.

 

If I am not mistaken, over 75% of the adult population is some denomination of Christianity. I don't think any of what you posted will affect the election, at least in any measurable amount. I think the Godless left are the only ones who are threatened by her.

 

The contorted cult of palin's brand of xianity is a threat to everyone. Those whose views coincide with palin will suffer as well. Palin views the earth as a resource to be exploited without regard to consequences. She is an example of trailer trash risen to power. She has proven herself to be a rovian darling who can stand in front of the American public and lie about anyone or anything. She is without a soul and God spare us if she gets within a heartbeat of the presidency.

 

I would also like to add that I think we are seeing the same thing with Palin as we saw with Obama. When there is a massive demand for information, and not enough content to deliver, stories appear and metastasize into rumors, conspiracies, half-truths, and outright lies.

I remember when Obama hit the scene he was supposedly born into radical Islam. I believe it was even associates of Hillary Clinton that claimed Obama went to school at a Madrassa in Jakarta.

The entire Repub campaign is designed to speak to the ignorant soap opera crowd. The good old boy-redneck club. The cop-callers and the bible thumpers, the "be all you can be, join the army" bunch. And the fat lady at Walmart with the grocery cart full of pop and white bread and bologna. You know, the one with her car held together with american flag stickers... And the frightening thing is that actually gives them a CHANCE to win!!!

Palin - pick an issue, she has the market cornered on all of them. Even the son who joined the military on 9-11 and one year later left for Iraq on 9-11... Give me a break! You can't make this stuff up. And proud to send your son off to war, but don't dare have an abortion...

Try REAL HARD to NOT look at her when she talks! No matter HOW badly I don't want her appearance to make me see her in a different light, it does not work. Everyone likes a pretty face and I have a hard time actually HEARING what she says because in some sick way I guess I expect that anyone so pretty who smiles so much must be OK. And if she affects ME that way, I'm pretty sure your average shmuck is gonna LOVE her...
She sounds like a teenage cheerleader. Her voice grates on your nerves. She is fake and slippery. I figure her appearance on the scene is due to some behind the scenes Alaska drilling deal...

Hillary must be LIVID. After all, SHE is famous, and Palin was pretty much unheard of. Now Palin is suddenly very close to the position that Hillary wanted....

 

I hate her voice, the woman pisses me off. These wallmart mums are going to fuck up the election.

So, Sarah Palin is dumb. Like, dumber than we could have ever expected.

In other words, her national security experience is living in a state that has a lot of oil! I want to rip my eyes out.

I saw an interview on the TV of her tonight.

She said something sooo stupid about quoting some meaning in what Lincoln once said, and she talked about God. But it was totally scripted and lame. I don't know how she can sit there and like, not talk to the person sitting face to face with her in a chair asking her human questions. I seriously said aloud "She's a robot!" Then I walked out of the room - and couldn't stand listening to the like, 5 minute clip I heard of her speak.

He asked her what the Bush Doctrine, she had no idea, and dodged the question by quoting meaningless talking points.

I mean, Christ, a woman this dumb ... her bubble has to burst, doesn't it? This is going to blow up in their face, isn't it? This woman is not just inexperienced, she's incompetent. She's ethically challenged. Worst of all, she's STUPID.
