ok, so i've done enough talking about wanting to create some kind of cannabis liqueur, now i'm taking action. absinthe has a reputation for being "trippy" or whatever, but it certainly isn't THAT much different from regular liquor. thujone...whatever. maybe absinthe has a certain enjoyable "something else," but i want a liqueur thats going to fully inebriate me in more than the way that alcohol alone can. so why not deliver pot via alcohol? well, right now i've got 8 shots of 110 proof vodka and 3g of some fine ground nuggest, about a teaspoon of orange extract, and some cardamom and allspice for good measure. i'm going to let it macerate for 1 month, then filter it. after this is accomplished, i will sweeten and somewhat dilute it. the point is to make a liqueur that will both deliver psychoactive amounts of THC and get you a pleasant alcohol buzz without tasting bad, and while reducing the chance of overindulgance by not making it overwhelmingly cannabinated OR overly alcoholic. i hope that when its finished and ready for human consumption, that it will be palatable and will be roughly at a strength where two to three shots will have you feeling pretty good.
Way easier: Get a qt. of tequilla, remove 1/4 of it and add ground up ganja. Let it sit in a dark warm place for a week. Agitate daily. Strain through a t-shirt into another bottle. NOW use it to make Happy Margarita's. Or Happy Strawberry Margarita's. Or Happy Honeydew Melon Margarita's. You get the picture.
There was a bottle of Cannibanated Liquor in this month's edition of High Times... I think they put seeds in the bottom.
i dont care about an "easier" method, i care about finding a way to get a high quality drink that contains alcohol and THC. anybody can just let some pot sit in some liquor for a few weeks and drink the resulting liquid, but it will NOT taste good. i want something with a specific effect and a good flavor, and i'm trying to achieve that. something that can be drank neat or in soda water or something, and enjoyed for its flavor as well as it's effect. all this "green dragon" stuff is described as nasty. there's got to be a way to make it tasty instead.
Nesta, if you want the resulting product to taste better, there's a simple way to do that. After slow-drying and curing weed, soak it overnight in water. Then drain the water and re-dry before adding it to anything. That removes a lot of that nasty hay-like chlorophyll taste. Personally, I think most hard liquor tastes terrible straight.

i did that a little while ago. I think it's called "green dragon", i still have some left over. i used a 1L bottle of 161 proof vodka and put in an 1/8 of weed. Let it stand for a month and drained out the week. 1 shot will give u a decent high, and 3 shots will get u pretty stoned. I usually drink it with oj or iced tea...it doesn't taste too bad, but i'm sure there are better things to drink it with. the high is more like the high from eating it.
yeah, alcohol isn't too good at extracting psilocybin, unfortunately, so i can't very well put mushrooms in. i've tried it before with poor results. i thought about steeping it in some lukewarm water to help remove some of the chlorophyll and stuff, but i wanted to first make sure i can make a decent drink that will get you stoned this way, without too many variables. i know that the water shouldnt effect the potency of the pot, but after all, cold water is used to make bubble hash, and i just want to make DAMN sure i dont lose more THC than necessary this time. i dont know the temp to keep the water at to prevent the loss of any resin. anyhow, this stuff is smelling good, and i bet it will at least pass as drinkable once its filtered off and sweetened and everything. i can perfect the recipe later. right now, i'm looking at straining off the pulp on new years day, then adding syrup and such and letting it age another week before consuming it.
you know you could drop in some lemon juice or distilled vinegar to extract the psilocybin to psilocin. you would have to adjust your spices though since not everything goes well with a lemon-twist liquor. haha, you're right i was stoned. just like now.
well, i like the idea of smokeless cannabis, so i like my vape, but sometimes i like a more mellow, relaxing high. and talk about relaxing, pot food is nearly narcotic! high proof alcohol that you put pot in for a few weeks is supposed to be just like food, but with a quicker onset. i figure it will be the best of both worlds, if i adjust the potency just right so i can get a good heady high going while getting just a slight alcohol buzz along with it..... i bet it will work miracles for insomnia!
