It seems to me that god(s) have always been created in man's image, inheriting all the petty traits that make us miserable. Is there any god out there that truly loves the world for all its diversity? I think not.

God lives in religion. I thought this would be the best place for my thought. Maybe I will re-post it elsewhere if nothing comes of it. Thanks.

    Why would you think that?
How else is man supposed to interpret/relate a concept such as God?
We anthropomorphize everything, and you call God into question because humans relate/interpret/explain everything relative to our own experience?

    Maybe you should rethink it.

    I think so.

I don't think the problems come from God or Religion, but from mans involvement.

We designed god with our own imperfections. Knock god and religion all you want, you're only kicking yourself and mankind. Even now we still worship our own shortcomings. Some would kill and die for them.

The problem with reglions are that they are more about dogma and control than finding the true form of God . I see God as a creative life force of the cosmos , and we are all small parts of God.

Ditto. I'd add: God is love. When we make it more complicated than that, we get into trouble.

Maybe I was to quick to lump them under the same theme. My presumption was to attribute a tendency of most religion to infer the worst of human nature on our gods.

God may or may not exist. He or She maybe benevolent or not.

But religion is made by humans.

    Forget that shit.

This is as close as I can come as well.

Even if God doesn't exist, for some reason people may indeed have a "God shaped hole" inside them, or an inherit desire to worship.

I don't think there's a problem with religion, cos that's like saying there's a problem with cheesewire. Just because it's been used to decapitate, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the humble and bendy cheese slicing device. Except the one we've got, cos it was made badly in China, the handles broke and now it's just wire with cheese on it.

The problem lies within the wielder of the wire.
