they instead continue to act imature, selfish, and ignorant while claiming the authority of having grown up.

Ya know that kid in little league whose dad was the coach, but insisted no one else played as much b/c they didn't practice hard? That's pretty much every adult today that disagrees with the occupy movement and thinks we are the entitlement generation.

Most people old enough to influence public opinion grew up in the easiest and most entitled times in US history, with the narrowest wealth gap, highest corporate tax rates, best wages to cost of living, and when education was considered public investments not personal obstacles.

Now all of a sudden they did it without help from anyone, and it seemed pretty damn easy so everyone else should be able to do it?

That's like the best home run hitters in baseball deciding it's too easy to hit a homerun, get the rules for homeruns changed to only balls hit out of the park, but insisting they still get to keep their previous homerun records.

Can the so called grown ups actually grow up and stop pouting in the corner b/c the candy should be all theirs!

yes, there is a problem of so-called adults being really selfish and petty

while young people may also be selfish and entitled, I don't see any reason to single young people out

there's plenty to criticize about the occupy movement, but I don't think that particular criticism has merit

I think that whoever is criticizing you and the occupy movement as being entitled is falling into the trap of Wall Street PR strategy: divert attention away from the fact that that the bankers are robbing us blind, have literally hired members of congress, and that what freedoms we have left are quickly eroding; try to divide the people by stoking generational hatred and slandering the reform movement

You really should print out your post here and keep it for the time when you too are old. You can reflect back on your blanket statement about old people and how they never grow up. You will realize what an assine, ill informed statement you have made in your youth. While there are old greedy fools who think only of themselves that certainly doesn't describe anything like a majority of OLD people.

Does it seem a little strange to you to be posting on a site about hippys and you're bad mouthing the very age group who started the hippie movement. Maybe you should go on a site for retired investment bankers...a site that caters to the 1%er's. I am seriously doubting any of us OLD people here are in the 1% group. And since you're fairly new here and haven't gotten to know the backstory on a lot of us seniors you might want to grow up a bit and get to know some of the folks here who worked and are still working our asses off to get what we have.

Fortunately you don't represent a majority of younger folks. Most younger folks with any quality about them would never make such foolish, stereotyping remarks about people they don't know. Hang around here long enough and maybe some of your age peers will rub off on you. There are some fine younger people here.

There's some wisdom in them oldies, but I say we wait them out, and eventually old age will take them, then we take the world for ourselves.

We just got to watch out for our kids. They're up to no good.

I think you make a blanket judgement about my entire post based off the one part that offended you. My annoyance is with older people who had the fortune of growing up while America was number 1 in everything being ignorant to the benefits they reaped while labeling younger generations entitled. If you are an older person that doesn't feel that way then I have said nothing offensive about you, you are just sensitive.

Also vieled politeness while calling some one ignorant does not make you look intelligent or superior to those that react negatively with curses and slurs. It still makes you a dick, just a shy one.

    ps. black boots awesome video.

Well I re-read your post and stick with what I said. Nowhere did you qualify which of us old folks were to be spared your wrath. Yet you get quite defensive when someone singles you out and calls you on your damning statement. You simply vilified "old people" as a group thus driving a wedge between generations creating a them and us scenario. Way to set up a dialogue.

I have children, now adults, and I worry about what a vicious minority republican politicians are trying to do to their future. My concerns are little different than yours but you as an individual have pushed old people aside instead of thinking of all of us being in this together. Your screed is divisive, not helpful.

Take heart though young grasshopper, soon we'll die off and you can right the wrongs as you see fit.

I'm 25, and I think my generation and younger has a high sense of entitlement. What kind of an asshole does that make me?

I think maybe my the confusion is in this sentence - That's pretty much every adult today that disagrees with the occupy movement and thinks we are the entitlement generation.

I'm not saying every adult today thiks the younger generation is entitled and has no solid political gripe.

I'm saying the older generations that feel that way are have no leg to stand on to make that arguement given the political and economic climate they grew up in.

Even if you take out all the economic advantages, the political culture was more supportive, there was a general belief that society should better itself, that the next generation was an investment for keeping America growing. Now we think our post office should turn a profit or it's failing, and that education and success is up to the individual and if they fail it's all their fault and only their loss.

it's pretty much welcome to society, here's all the rules about living together, now go do everything on your own, and the kids like wait, but what about all the rules about living together?

you use ''every'' just a little bit too fuckin loosely...you actually think no adults are behind the occupy movement?...that statement alone makes you look less than educated....did you even go down and see the people during the occupation..there was plenty of old people....

...and who the fuck are you to tell me to grow up...

your op is so rife with mistakes that its not even fun to point them all out
