Let me just say that I've done research on Datura, and know what it can do, so I do not intend on trying it.

But over the summer, a friend and I came across several flowers. We grabbed 10 of them and went back to his house, and that night cooked up a tea with all 10 (we ended up tossing it later, after talking to a few people who had done it). But one thing that really struck me was the presence. While it was brewing, I swear that the air in the whole place was thick with a mystical sort of feeling; I could definitely feel that there was something important.

So I was just wondering- have any of you been around Datura and felt the same thing? It was sort of impressive, actually- there was a great sense of power and potential. It wasn't exactly sinister, either. I actually felt tempted to try it, just because of how I felt- it was almost calling me. But knowing what I know, I don't think I could bring myself to actually do it.

What like you was making a Witches Brew.. Why of course theres a presence..
You should definitly respect it.. Datura will rape your mind, body and spirit..
Its like your a big piece of bubble gum in the mouth of mother nature. She chews you up really bad, spits you out and you will get stuck on the ground for a while.. Just like gum...

Datura grows liberally up and down all over the bike-path in my town, and one thing i've experience a few times while riding my bike on the path at night is that the white flowers glow insanely under the moon's light. While riding and gazing out into open fields and seeing the seemingly hundreds of blooming white flowers, I can't help but be taken over by a strangely mystic presence. It's as if im merely visiting a different world at a different time. Very, very strange plant

Another name for Datura is "moon lilly". Didn't know why at first but now I do.

That just sounds more like a placebo effect though, unless the spirit does make you dream more, probably not though

The plants themselfs look a bit mystical

Broad, almost plastic like leaves. (a very strong pungent peanut odor to the leaves not mystical but notable.)
    Sharp spiny thorned seedpods.
and big purple, or white to yellowish trumpet flowers.

expect a shitload to pop up in the next few weeks.

i have had dreams about a datura plant in my neighborhood. i talk to it sometimes, she is beautiful. the mother plant has many little children around it too. i would never eat it in any quantity. i have been considering eating a seed or two before bed. or making tea with one flower, and then diluting that with a gallon of water and drinking a cup of the water.
