For a long time I have thought that all sport is completely pointless. Once on the Radio that chap from Spiked on-line when discussing free speech pointed out the absurdity of someone getting in trouble for for what they said on the soccer pitch, because in the 90 minutes of the game takes place players and spectators revert to their primeval mode and become bigots. This would explain why I have never had any interest in sport or liked the company of bigots.
If you really like a sport you would not let it get ruined by the part of the crowd that are let's say a little bit over enthousiastic. And what's wrong with temporarily reverting to your primeval mode? Better during a sports game than in your daily dealings with other people I think. But all in all I never had a really big interest in following pro sport myself either.
Dont know much about soccer ,,but sports in this country is all about $$$$$$$ Sure the athletes have thier pride and want to win the games,,but at the end of the day it,s PAY ME.. In the old days a player would stay with the same team until he retired,,these days they jump to whoever will pay them the most millions- --Not that its so wrong,, just that times have changed. I used to play baseball back in HS(64-68)- -the coach threw me off the team cause I refused to cut my hair- hahaha-> - wish the army would've done the same thing-
It's the same in pro soccer, junglejack. If there is one problem I have with this sport it is the amount of money that is going around in it.
Yeah,,thats the problem...not looking for the biggest paycheck, that's thier right. Its the amount of that paycheck. Some of these guys sign deals for -10 yrs for up to 250 Million bucks - - Thats a huge amount to pay someone to stay in shape, fly around the country, have multiple girlfriends, and play a game. Even the worst guy on a team is gettin a couple million a year..I dont know of any other occupation that throws $$ around like that - Maybe the entertainment (Hollywood) industry comes close
