Yes it was Babel! I read the reviews on Netflix. I think Babel is a WAY better movie than Crash. I rented it to watch it again with John the other day. Crash I will never watch again, one time was one too many. Also I hated how people were comparing that movie with Crash like they were remotely similar. The director, Alejandro whatever, forget his name has been doing the interconnected stories for awhile now. 21 Grams and Amores Perros are examples of it.
Babel was "ok", but it took itself far too seriously. for Crash I don't think the cast mattered at all, the dialogue and characters still made of cardboard and plywood.
I hear you. I actually love a lot of bad movies, because they don't pretend to be something they're not. but the worst films in the world are the ones like Crash, which are totally ridiculous but are passed off by Joe 6 Pack as profound.
Sure but Benicio's probably my favorite actor out there. Penn is a great director BTW, I recently watched "Into the Wild".
Oh I loved Sean Penn in that movie with Robert De Niro. Damn, I can't remember its name...Its pretty old. Ummm...prisoners, priests....Damn !!!!!
haaha, this made me laugh. I freakin' love the oscars but I'm sad like that ^-^ I realli wanna see Revolutionary Road...wonder why Kate Winslet wasn't nominated for best actress in that. Looks likes she does a spectacular job. I love her though. Something about her tone of voice and facial expressions. I hope slumdog millionaire wins them ALL!
