Would the original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes IV, V, & VI) be as popular if they were made today and not when the technology used was so groudbreaking? This assumes they would utilize all of todays technology, but keep the original story line.
i think it would be.. it comes down the story line over all ya special effects are cool and everything but if you have a lot of booms and no story line forget it.. i love the movies
i hate the new old trilogy... you cant buy an original star wars trilogy anymore. it sucks... they release them now with the added scenes..... i wanna see it the way it was when i first saw them when i was a kid!!!!!!!!
ive got em all, the original trilogy, original trilogy in thx, widescreen dvds, and full screen dvds... i love star wars
I have the original trilogy on clunky VHS. I boycott the new versions because I'm sort of a purist. I love the cheezy cantina puppets and the spaceships on a string... that just adds to the charm of the original film, and it should've been left as is. I mean, what's next... Paul McCartney goes back in the studio & re-records all his old Beatles guitar parts because wants to add mega-distortion? So much for my mini-rant. Anyway, to answer the original question, I say nah. Star Wars was such a hit coz it was the first of its kind. If it were to be released today, it would be just another scifi flick imo.
I think Star Wars wouldn't be as popular if it wasn't for geeks like us...that's right...I brought up the geek factor. It's people like us that kept it alive for all these years.
