Being serious for a moment. It's really sad how gullible people are who follow cult leaders. The Reverend Jim Jones, who ran the Peoples Temple for a while in San Francisco, CA had his believers believe that he could raise the dead. He did reach into coffins, and raise the people there, who were allegedly dead. People said, leave him alone. He was doing so much good. Then he moved to Jonestown, Guyana and killed all his remaining followers thru mass suicide in 1978. But you know, on the subject of what people will believe. Joseph Smith thought his followers were gullible too apparently. He talked of magic underwear and X-ray spectacles. And God's word written on gold tablets, which he never showed anyone (where are they then?). And he often talked about Mormon. Mormon he said was a prophet-historian and a member of a tribe of indigenous Americans, known as the Nephites. When the better educated people at the time complained that Mormon is not a Hebrew or even ancient word, Smith explained it meant "more mon", IOW more good ("mon" was slang at the time for "good"). But never explained the origin of name of his angel-guide Moroni. What could that name be derived from? And why didn't he just tell us? How Moron-ic.
Richard Dawkins invented his own nonsense word "meme", and linguists were forced to give it a real meaning, because he had convinced hundreds of millions of people to babble complete gibberish. Blame the atheists. According to my own research, they created both Fundamentalism and Totalitarian Communism, and are responsible for at least 3 world wars. Atheists make good weapons, and are gullible as hell, just ask Google. Oxford has been making up their own nonsense for 200 years, and keeps getting away with it, because its best to censor any knowledge of the subject. Gullibility is an entirely new field, now that they're starting to quantify it, but you can expect it to be censored.
Well yes. We also have the magic transubstantiation of bread into flesh and wine into blood, the raising of a crucified demi god from the dead, miraculous virgin births, two fish that multiple while in a basket and then feed 5,000 people, flying saints, on and on. Surprising how gullible people are.
The invention of a word is called coining. Nothing wrong with that at all. Interesting how you blame a generally non organized group of people with the invention of both fundamental Christianity (figure that one out) and communism; which dates back to the paleolithic and was praised by Seneca, Diodorus Siculus, Virgil, Ovid, Aristophanes, and Plato. Not to mention the Bible in the Book of Acts 2:44–45 and Acts 4:32–37. Plus they caused three world wars...I always thought there were only two.
Those "nonorganized" people have dominated academia, just as Mormons now run all of DC. Among other things, inventing the atom bomb and modern AI. They are nonorganized, because every civilized culture has figured out how to use them to make weapons and money. I don't blame them for being ignorant, just for censoring half of reality.
Assuming that atheists have dominated academia, could it be because those in academia are more intelligent than those who believe in omniscient gods?
Man, that's for sure. You seriously expect us to believe that atheists caused three world wars? (I thought there were only two, so far..) And they created Fundamentalism, too? How did they do that? I hope our readers aren't gullible enough to take what you say seriously. BTW, I'm a Christian, and find Dawkins' concept of memes quite useful in talking about cultural evolution.
Forty years of research indicates that working memory is the only reliable way to assess anyone's career potential, which is what you'd expect in a flock of chickens. You could say, academia represents the memory, of the wealthy and powerful, and they maintain their elevated position, as higher ranking chickens, by making sure nobody else can even use a fucking dictionary. All the studies indicate that brain surgeons and rocket scientists are no smarter than anyone else, and your IQ can go up and down on a daily basis, just from watching too much TV. Is it really that hard to believe, that militant atheists have screwed everyone, including themselves, playing around with words like kindergarten wannabe lawyers?
Yeah, it is for me. I'd need to know some specifics. The reference to "kindergarten wannabe lawyers" is puzzling. What does it even mean? Maybe lawyers are atheists at heart, but some claim to be Christians. In a church I used to attend, the biggest contributer every Sunday was a lawyer of the ambulance chasing variety, and he also took up the collection.(uhoh). Of course there were some really bad atheists: Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and the Kims come to mind. But then again, there have been some really bad actors calling themselves Christians-- the Borgia Popes, Torquemada. The TV grifters of our own time: Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Jim and Tammy Bakker, Jimmie Swaggart, Joel Osteen, etc., also come to mind, although not of the same magnitude. Whether or not they're bad seems to depend on what else they are: e.g., Marxist-Leninist. Fortunately, all the atheists and Christians I know personally seem to be good people trying their best to lead moral lives. I trust the atheists and my religious friends equally. I don't think academia us a conspiracy by the wealthy to keep the masses down. They seem fully capable of doing that on their own. The IQ of brain surgeons and rocket scientists is irrelevant, but I respect their expertise. As for those Mormons, they do have some really strange beliefs, but most of the ones I've met seem decent enough--good family values, and they take care of each other. It's quite a stretch to say they're "running Washington." What "they" are you talking about? Mitt Romney? Mike Lee? Andy Biggs? You seem to be letting your conspiracy theories get in the way of the facts. You mention your concerns that atheists like Richard Dawkins are teaching folks to "babble complete gibberish", but frankly that's what most of your posts sound like to me.
It is sad how gullible people will follow cult leaders. I predict that one day there will be a man who will speak to the gullible people of America and convince him that he will be a great leader and even go so far as to convince people that he is a very successful businessman that has become a billionaire. And yet he will still nickle and dime his followers for all that he can get under the pretense of donations for this, or that, cause, or to help him with his legal struggles that his own stupidity and ineptitude puts him into. (Seriously, he will not be a smart man!) I predict that they will gladly buy hats and shirts with White Nationalist slogans on them that he has normalized and they will post his flags everywhere and bumper stickers. And no matter what kind of lies, or what kind of sexist, racist, despicable or hateful thing he says, his cult followers will love him and turn their own moral compasses towards whichever way he points. And he will be able to commit all kinds of corruption and traitorous acts right in front of everyone and none of his followers will care at all. He will even create a very nepotistic administration with his own children, and no one will notice! I know it may seem hard to imagine this, being that we fought and were victorious against Nationalism or Fascism in World War II, but I am afraid that he will bring the specter of fascism back again, but this time within our own borders, and we will again have to fight this horrible evil. I am not the only one to predict such a horrible thing. In his book, The Undiscovered Self, in the late 1950's, Carl Jung warned us of such a danger, explaining it as the result of a mass psychosis of sorts. I fear for the Nation when he rises up to power. For all we know it could be happening right now. By the way, I feel so strongly about this that I sacrificed a goat under the full moon and examined its entrails. I don't know what this means, but somehow the color orange is attached to this selfish despotic evil person who wants to become America's first dictator. And the cross...
When nobody can even use a fucking dictionary, you have to ask yourself what "conspiracy" means. The whole reason nobody can use a fucking dictionary, is because the wealthy and powerful insist everyone do as they say, and not as they do. When simple divide and conquer rules the mass media, Three Stooges slapstick is all you'll ever get. The wealthy and powerful have made the truth itself taboo. Just bringing up the fact nobody can use a dictionary, I've received death threats, and been censored. So, I figured out how to program AI, to take advantage of all the liars and posers being so gullible as to make the dictionary and analog logic taboo.
Seriously? Death threats? I find that hard to believe? I can certainly see why someone can be skeptical of your claims, as I am, since I think most people can use a fucking dictionary (unless this is a special kind of dictionary I'm not aware of). I have no doubt the rich and powerful ( Murdochs, Koch Brothers, Mercers, etc.) are active in shaping public opinion favorable to their interests, but dictionaries?
Conan O'Brien has video of the same thing, you can find at democracy now. These people have been conditioned to lie, with a third of the US consisting of compulsive liars, and their teachers refusing to take responsibility for a quarter of their students believing the sun revolves around the earth. The only thing fundamental about Fundamentalism, is it was invented by militant atheists.
Oh, it goes A,B,C,D and you know--on like that. It's a bitch to understand, but with enough practice------
When I have trouble using the dictionary, there's a song I learned as a child that I use. It goes, Happy birthday to you, happy... Oh, wait, that's when I have trouble with my name. No, the song goes, A, B, C, D, E, F, G...
In Wooleeheron's defense, there is certainly a dumbing down of America, and our educational system is flawed in many ways. There is certainly a push by the Right to do replace public education with private schools based on an ideology that some children are better off working than going to school. I am curious to hear his explanation that atheists created fundamental Christianity. I think that the history of western philosophy demonstrates that atheism and materialism is the logical end conclusion for Judeo-Christian thought. Hegel is a late stage development in this process of religion/idealism progressing into atheism/materialism, and Karl Marx was certainly a Left Hegellian, and Marxism is a definite product of Hegellian philosophy. Hegel's philosophy is kind of like being an atheist but you can't admit it or don't want to actually say that you are an atheist.
