The New Yorker: Paul Haggis vs The Church of Scientology

    This is another very long article on scientology. Twenty-six pages long and almost 25000 words.

    It is definitely worth reading in its entirety although here is a short summary of what is revealed (in meticulous detail) in the long version.

    What's not in the summary is the allegation that the church used underpaid and/or unpaid slave labor to work on projects for tom cruise. Including work on his new motorcycle that Steven Spielberg had just given him, his airplane hangar and his custom built SUV limo. The church had denied all of that stating that all of that work was performed by paid professional contractors.

    On page 19 of the main article is where it really starts to pick up with news that the FBI has an open case investigating scientology for human trafficking. The article also picks apart many of the lies that scientology spokesman have been telling reporters more thoroughly than I have seen in a major publication in a very long time.
