i just descovered lucien freud. he's the grandson of the original and a genius. his style is so unique and yet it still blends with the goals of the expressionists. how do you feel about his work? especially his portait of the queen, yay controversy!
I love Lucian Freud! One amazing painter, I don't really like his early paintings but when he started doing the nudes and painting with those thick layers, that's where my love for his work begins. I just love the way he paints the flesh. :tongue: His work is very expressive and maybe shocking to some people, but man, so good. I'm acctually doing a piece on him for school.
that's really cool. his layering is amazing, he's turned painting into 3d art with his stokes and the way he almost carves with the paint. where are you at school?
