In italian we say "Jacqueline" too... there is not a translation for Jaqueline. At least i don't know it. I'm not sure, but since "Jacqueline" cames from "Jack", which is "Giacomo" in italian, "Jaqueline" could be "Giacomina" "Giacomina" is Giacom + a ("a" means female, "o" means male 99% of the times) + ina... ("ina" is an italian suffix that means "little". it's used for person, animal and things. it was very popular in the 19-20 century in south italy) IMHO, for an italian "Jaqueline" sounds just great, but "Giacomina" sounds VERY riddicolous. I love all the italian names, but if you go on the street and you say "Mi chiamo Giacomina" (My name's Giacomina), well, people will start laugh... period. Peace and Love! NaMaStE
thanks a lot dreamingwight! I was just confused because in my italian class we learned that there is no "J" in the italian alphabet, so I assumed that there was an italian equivalent to the name. If you guys do say "Jacqueline", then how do you guys pronounce it? would it be Jac-que-lin-eh?
