actually, the birth control thing of lunaception is just the tip of the iceberg as far as using it to know yourself is concerned...

 

People don't realize how much the moon affects all of us. It is only because most people are so out of touch with nature. But really, the moon is a main cause of the fact that our oceans have tides. That is a pretty big thing and so it only makes sense that it would affect us as well.

Absolutely, especially considering we are mostly water. That's one aspect of it, anyway.

 

indeed. we are also subject to emotional tides often misdiagnosed as "depression" or fer example "writers block". this is meant to be a "low point" to counter all the information just absorbed in the "high tide". just as fish go along with the tides, giving the shellfish and other filterers of the sea time to "process" or detoxify the accumulation of data in their niche.
with these low tide introspection periods come patience and thus wisdom being better equipped to handle to coming school of information in the next high tide. misinterpretation due to ignorance leads to prozak, seeing how these cycles are 2 to 5 or even more extreme years in duration.
it's amazing the correlations between nature and the body.
you could say natures prozak is the new algae overrunning the mediterranian sea, glowing errie green and totally unsupportive of growth being almost devoid of life force itself, however minimally poisenous. it is natures answer to the insatiable pollution of Her being. it is really though, people commiting suicide. i say this because of the massive poisening occuring on this planet, and peoples complacency in the face of it, oh how depressing that is for Mother nature.

Wow, I never thought about that! When I start menstruating again, I'll make sure and keep an eye on the moon during my cycle. Weird, but amazing.

my experience with my 'moon time'
i used to be completely aligned (like dancer annie) i always started on the day before or day of the full moon. then i participated in a non-traditional sweat lodge ceremony where two of the three women in the lodge were having their cycle. the next day, mine started as a result of the experience we shared together (i'm sure most of us have unintentionally aligned with other women we're around alot, like our moms, sisters, roomates) anyway, even though this was an extremely powerful experience, i was a bit dismayed to no longer be 'with the moon'
so the month before last, while admiring the moon, i was deeply concentrating on my desire to be re-aligned with the moon's energy. i did not do any formal ritual or anything. i just spent some time meditating on my goal to be connected. i REALLY wanted to begin having my cycle with the full moon again. then, i started my period after only a 14 day cycle. i am ALWAYS regular & was a bit concerned at this short cycle. but when i sat down with the calendar, i realized that after having this short cycle, my next period should arrive on the full moon (if it was 28 days like normal).....so sure enough, this month i started on the full moon! how that for the woman/moon connection....powerful magic eh

i see sounded like an Old Wives Tale=knoledge passed down through the years...which is always particulary accurate in herbal medicinal and well being terms...What we're talking about here is kind of like the underground railroad of Women of knoledge drove down into the ground by insecure men folk, similar to the erradication of knoledge of African medicine/knoledge.

So basically you could say, and i will, that what the prudes did to North America, the inquisition did to South America. They are hauntingly similar incidents in which much was lost.
However as bad as it seems here in America, it's far better than it is is many other places in the World, which just goes to show you how far this insecurity goes in this cheuvanistic "new" world.
