The first Metal Gear Solid took games to a new level. I remember when my friend bought it when it was first released. We hadn't seen anything like it! Its awesome how so many of the voices and game sounds are almost the exact same in todays platforms! Excellent series.
Yes that game was amazing! The only thing I had played that was remotely similar to it at the time was Resident Evil but I much preferred the depth of the storyline of Metal Gear Solid and the gameplay as well. The intricacies like knocking on doors to bait your enemies, going to your radio to get codes and advice were all very novel and interesting concepts to me. All the boss battles were pretty wild too from what I recall.
I really liked all of them except MGS2. It was kind of a pain. But really, the whole series was a masterpiece. I just cringe waiting for the day that it carries on without a story to tell and it withers away with the next installments. -BlkBks
