2nd last was The Guardian, since this is in the UK forum thought I'd mention that, loved it, was the funniest movie I've seen in a while

Last was Contagion though, for all all star disaster epic it was mind numbingly tedious and a big disappointment

cold fever, film about a japanese businessman who has to travel to iceland to perform funeral rites where his parents died, and all the beautifully odd people he meets on the way. surreal and funny, also iceland is shot beautifully.

District 9. Terrible. Plot full of holes and horribly mawkish, with unbearable, selfish characters I didn't give a shit about. The awkward attempt to make a morality tale was so obvious it could insult the intelligence of a particularly stupid cat.

what with halloween coming up, i've been binging on classic horror.

suspiria- brilliant italian giallo film about a ballerina who moves to a ballet school only to discover that its really a murderous coven of witches, beautifully shot, surreal but striking use of colour, genuinely chilling.
the haunting- fantastic 60's gothic story, paranormal investigator tries, with a team of others, to discover the secrets of "hill house" really gripping, even given the "safeness" of recognisable gothic cliches (big haunted masion on a hill lightning etc.) AVOID THE 1990's REMAKE
poltergeist- little piece of 80's magic, suburban family terrrised by being form their TV. brilliant use of the filmmaking technique "creepy little blond girl"
black sunday/mask of satan- 'nother italian one this time from Mario Bava, legendary director a little cheesy by todays standards, but that tends to be forgiven in light of the amazing richness of the visuals.

fully intend to get through psycho, rosemary's baby, texas chainsaw massacre, house of 1000 corpses, night of the living dead and let the right one in.

hooray for the excuse that is this noble festival.

Is Drive Angry good not in 3d?
I downloaded it then deleted it when I realized it was made in 3d.

Also, Drag Me to Hell has a crazy hidden meaning: the main character is anorexic.
