Now drinking a beer from New Belgium of Fort Collins, Colorado. This is their De Konick Flowering Citrus Ale from their Lips of Faith series. It is a collaboration beer with De Konick Brewery of Belgium. It's listed on BeerAdvocate as a fruit beer. It pours a mostly clear but slightly hazy, bright golden-copper color with tight 1/2 finger head that sticks around for a while before slowly subsiding to leave some lacing on the glass. Upon first smell there does not seem to be much going on with this beer as the aroma is very faint. I notice some light, tart citrus, namely lemon with some grassy, herbal notes (big lemongrass), as well as lime, hibiscus, some pepper, and some floral hops along with some bready malts and Belgian yeast esters. In the flavor, upfront is it mildly sweet and tart, with large overtones of lemongrass and citrus fruit (lemon rind, lime), some sweet, biscuity malts, some clove, and some floral, herbal flavors. Lots of earthy flavors coming from the hops, hibiscus and the yeast. The body of this beer is light and rather thin with a dry effervescence. ABV is 7.4%, but drinks like 5% ABV. Overall I was not too impressed with this beer. While it is crisp, refreshing, and very conducive to hot weather consumption, I found the aroma, flavor and body of this beer too thin for my liking. Decent beer, but not worth nearly $14 for a four-pack. Overall rating: B
I already reviewed this beer a few months ago, but it's what I am drinking at the moment, and it is fucking incredible.
Yeah. I don't know if my stomach could handle that many. I have drinks like that sometimes but no more than a 24oz can. Those days were over when the Smirnoff ice came around. It was like a fad to me. Almost like an introduction to alcohol because I couldn't drink regular macro lagers.
I'm drinking cheap whiskey right now, Kentucky Deluxe. We used to call this stuff Kill'em Dead back in high school. 1 200ml for starters and a 375ml to finish you off. The only thing I don't like about this alcohol, is I can never remember my dreams. Go to bed and all of a sudden it's 7am. Not much of a hangover, but c'mon man, dreams are sometimes what I look forward to the most.
Gotta go to the store...wondering what I should yet. Might just go to the place in town. They only have the cheap stuff but I am not buying anything great tonight anyway.
Oh. Not sure if I mentioned ii tried a Smirnoff ice electric. The blue one I think. Easiest drink to describe. It tasted exactly like those cheap ice pops that come in long clear pouches and are all stuck together. You know the ones you buy warm then freeze when you get them home. Its like they took one of them and added 5% everclear.
