I have been drinking too much as well. As soon as the new year gets here, I am taking a needed break. After a while it makes you look and feel like shit. On top of that I have been spending way too much money.
I gained 35 pounds the last 7-10 months from alcohol lol. I didn't even get to have my night owl pumpkin ale beer this year
Also... I'm back for another night o' drankin! I'm just gonna get right to the review, cause I finished this one already and I gotta pee! Beer #1: (Alc. 7.0%) (Barrier Brewing - Endless Sky) Smell: Bright and smooth citrus gladly greets me first. Possibly a bit of gentle pepper notes in the body. Slight cracker notes fill out the distant background. Taste: Creamy and smooth, with a bright pithy body. Subdued bitter notes play with the gentle pepper throughout. Somewhere in the distance, cracker rounds out the rest. Overall, I'm finding this IPA quite enjoyable. Definitely qualifies for IPA's I'd happily drink again. Good late summer night/autumn brew. It'd probably pair well with chicken and fish... ooh, yeah... this would be perfect to go with fish n chips! (No hottie pic this time. Not sure what to post and I'd rather meander the 'net instead of spending 20 minutes looking for a pic! Knowhutimean?!?)
Alrighty... on to the next offering! Beer #2: (7.5%) (Victory - Black Forest Cake Stout) Smell: Coffee and dark chocolate present in the front, with an undercurrent of dark cherry. Bready body that carries the dark cherry forward. Sweet raisin whispering in the background. Taste: Coffee and dark chocolate, spiked with dark cherry. Bready body lumbers in the midground. Smoky flavor and cherry notes stronger on the back end. Overall, a tasty stout with a lovely flavor profile. Dark cherries add an intriguing layer of complexity. Not my favorite stout, but really pleasant nonetheless. (Smoky flavor builds, gets a little heavy.) (No easy to find pic that's relatable, so again... no pic. )
I think it's my first one from that brewery and obviously, I was not disappointed. And when I say an IPA is good, it means... well... that people who aren't fans of bitter IPAs might find it enjoyable. The head helps with the creamy mouthfeel, although it's decent without it as well. If you get a chance to try it, I'd say go for it!
Ok... after an extended Twitter idiocy, I'm ready to start on my last new beer of the night. (Probably won't be drinking any other beers, as this should last awhile.) Beer #3: (Alc. 14.7%) (Southern Tier - Montrosus) Smell: Immediate chocolate cordial, followed by sweet raisin. Somewhat bready body. Laid back bourbon soul. Taste: Velvety dark chocolate with slight coffee notes. Warm bourbon whisps about the whole experience. Sweet, hidden raisin notes flit about the smoky soul. Overall, this is a very lovely drink (I'm adverse to calling it a "brew"). She has a thick body and a dark, sweet soul. Best reserved for last drink of the night... probably wonderful in front of a large fireplace, discussing horror stories with friends. And finally! A related pic!
Drinking Hops Limon from Evolution Craft Brewery. Definitely one of if not the best tropical ipa's I have had. These things can put a hurting on you in the summer. Very refreshing and goes down quick and easy. But with a 6.8%abv this goes down like it should be 4.5.
Drinking a good ass beer. They should change the name to a cheap ads beer. Tastes like kirlands light beer. And for all I know it is.
Yeah, I'm taking a break from beer and wine after the new year. Too fattening. But that's a whole two days away.
Drinking autocrat a coffee milk stout from Narragansett A good value. Not a great milk stout but still good and it was pretty cheap.
Oskar Blues Old Chub Scotch ale and Kavanaugh Irish whiskey. Don't think I can handle champagne in a few hours. But, whatever...I've got three hours to get as much booze into me before taking a break in 2018. Let's do dis shit
Got one Molotov heavy from evil twin brewing. Best of the molotovs and at 17%abv you don' need a whole lot of them.
Drinking Dugges cocoa cacao It's good That should be my review. It' got a strong chocolate covered fruit taste.
Saranac Smores. wasnt so great, I gave it away.. 6.2% Hofbrau Munchen winter spezial. booze is hidden well, taste crisp, not poured, just from the bottle. 8.4%
That's actually really good to know! I've come close to getting a can of that a few times now. Sounds like I'm better off with other offerings. Thanks... you saved me a "meh".
So yeah, I'm back again. I totally missed the whole New Years Eve thing... just sat here gaming until the wife and I noticed it was a couple minutes past midnight. "Oh hey... it's 2018. Happy New Year, I guess." (back to gaming) lol
