I noticed with google that you could no longer "view" image on my mobile or my iPad. No actually, the iPad lets me do it by my phone won't. It'll let me copy the picture that doesn't work. And if have to save to my phone and use an upload site to post it here and yeah, way too much effort for a forum.
Picked up 4 growlers on my trip to get a hockey stick. Also got a garbage can, food, tomasellos wine...but no hockey stick. First beer i drank was evos jaque de lantern. Very light but for some reason i am blaming the growler unless it is just this years batch. Last years was full of pumpkin flavor. Second was rise up stout. With its usual greatness. I think i mentioned before that its my favorite local beer. Also yet to open lagunitas lil sumptin and a blood orange beer that i forget who makes it. Picked up a pumpking and lagunitas sucks. A 4 pack of kentucky.....damn i forget which one. It was a 10% abv ale and had a slight cherry taste. Guess you can look it up if you are wondering. I picked up one more small bottle i forget that one too. It was a common one that i never had before. I will post about it when i drink it.
The small bottle I couldn't think of was ballast points big eye. The growler was flying dogs bloodline blood orange. I am drinking that one now. The taste is an afterthought. I can't get by the mouthfeel. It numbs slightly. But on top of that it is really bubbly. Even after the ridiculously big head goes away. The feel of bubbles seems to stay even after the sip is long gone. Oh yeah there is flavor to it too. I wouldn't be able to place it if I didn't know it was blood Orange but since I know it is pretty obvious. Not overpowering obviously being that I notice the texture first but enough to say it is a good taste and very smooth/drinkable. It is definitely different and would recommend it just for that reason. You surely never had a beer like this one.
So... what was it?!? We only know you couldn't post a pic of it, but you never told us what it was! How can I go on living like this?!?
Actually, I surely have a had a beer like that one. Or more precisely, I've had that same beer! This is the review I gave it when I tried it:
ahaa sorry i forgot to post what it was. It was ballast point piper down pumpkin ale. Just today i picked up a 12 pack of sierra nevas fall brews. Ill let you guys know how they are later tonight.
Ha! I love that Piper Down label graphic! (Well, both Piper Down and Pumpkin Down... but you know what I mean.) And... how was it? Any good?
I agree with your review except it wasnt that hoppy to me. Shit that lil sumptin now that was some major hoppiness. First sip was like someone punched me in the mouth with a hand made of a hop. Second sip i got used to it like getting used to a hot bath. By the time i was half way through the first pint i was enjoying the hoppiness of it. The pumpking... well its pretty much the same as drinking a pumpkin pie. Crust and all.
When I had tried the Pumpking, it came off a bit perfumey and the spices were stronger than the pumpkin. But I could've been tasting it weird, since I'd had a sour beer just before it and used the same glass (although rinsed it well, just maybe not enough). I also noted the hoppiness of Lil Sumptin when I tried that, but didn't have an extensive review. Oh... I got some new drinks today. Granted they aren't beer, but they were an anniversary gift from my wife. She got me Midnight Moon moonshine (strawberry and apple pie). I can't wait to try them!
drinking firewalker mix tail. yeah im not proud but it was on sale for a dollar its 8% abv and a 25 oz can. that's the amount of alcohol in 4 light beers for a buck. its got a nice strong but not overpowering fireball taste to it. really light in comparison to other malt beverages of this kind although I still wouldn't call it light overall.
Hey, I'd buy that for a dollar, too! And I'll give a review here when i try that strawberry moonshine.
Went to the beach so I passed the good beer store. Picked up flying dogs the fear imperial pumpkin ale. Drinking that now. A nice pumpkin flavor but strong alcohol taste. Well at least it's noticeable. Not really a pumpkin pie taste but a good pumpkin taste all the same. Picked up a bunch of random Shit 12 others I never had before. I will get to them.
First was yin from eviltwin. It reminds me of a few different bad beers I have had. It's called an imperial taiji stout. I don't know what the fuck that means but it is 10% so I guess that's why it's an imperial. They say mix in with yang but I am afraid that one might be good and I don't want to waste it on this one. When I drink my stouts I want malty sweetness. This had a hoppy taste that just does not belong in this beer. Really it is not bad but it is far from good. I would drink it again but wouldn't buy it again.
Now drinking the yang from eviltwin it's supposed to be a black and tan. The yang is called an imperial taiji ipa. Ok I stand corrected this would definitely improve the yin. It is very light flavored. Especially since it is also 10%. But I am wondering if the yin would ruin the yang because it is good. It tastes more malty than the yin did. There is something wrong with that. But there is a hippy flavor hidden behind the malts but it is light but lasts long after the sip is done. This is one that can mess you up if you had a 6 pack of them. I can picture myself drinking them like water. But I am only sipping because like I said the taste lasts long after each sip plus I feel good being I just had that yin.
drinking Stillwater artisanal (sensory series v.2 small black) there is a very strong smell of a cheap stale American macro lager. pretty much might be the worst smelling beer I ever had. the taste is all sour which is not bad, I like sours. I cant place any particular fruit because all that I get is a bad smell. I tried holding my nose and seeing if I can get past the smell but then there is no taste until I let go of my nose and it is mixed with the bad smell lingering. if they could somehow make this beer smell like it tastes I would buy it again. since they can or do not it will stay as one of the worst beers I have had since I stopped trying malt liquors. (malt liquor beers)
