Hubby's bedroom is saturated with Nag Champa smell. He burns it in there almost constantly.

Mama's doctor appt yesterday went really well. She got a super nice sling. I've never seen one like this before. Her arm is broken about 3" down from the shoulder and overall the doctor was sooo nice and optimistic it made us both feel better about everything. Her extreme bruising which has gotten progressively much worse was "guaranteed" to get better, and he felt it was due to a combination of her age, thin skin which easily bruises and bleeds and gravity.

He gave me the paperwork to get her a permanent handicapped placard, which will be an immense relief to have when we go anywhere. So far, she doesn't want to go out in public (unless its a necessity such as to the doctor) but that will change with time. He also provided me with a script for a quad cane...thanks Aeri for that suggestion.

So everything is going as well as it can be, given the people involved. lol yeah...read into that what you want. ;) :D

Since there are no little children nor grands here, I'm grateful I don't feel that need to have to do the "regular" Christmas decorating. Kids make everything different...and honestly, they make Christmas better in everyway. Without little ones around though, decorating might send me down into a depression or something, and we can't have that. :)

So, I know the obligatory stuff is/can be very aggravating, but please be glad y'all feel that way and have those little ones to make you feel you MUST do this. A part of me does wish I had to deal with that feeling that I HAD to. :)

There are way too many parents of little ones (like has already been mentioned here) that don't really give their children what I feel is one of the most special times of a young child's life...and they aren't NOT making Christmas special for any reason than they don't want to.

    smh at those people

I'm glad you liked the doc.

When her arm is better, and she can put pressure on it, she might need to get a walker. I know she'll raise hell but tell her if she's going to make it to 100 years old she's going to have to pace herself.

He has set us up to come back in 3 weeks, which pleases me, and he said that if everything was going good he may start a little bit of physical therapy. I'm glad that he isn't dismissing her/us as old and ready to put out to pasture...he is planning on getting her back to the best she can be. :)

Lord knows when she is happy, I'm happy. :D (and vice versa ;) )

Gravity causes bruising...like when you fall down...or like when someone brings a fist down on you...

I put the absolute least amount of effort into christmas. And even less this year. My mom didnt ask for help with her decorations and i am giving gift cards to the little ones. The only effort i am dealing with is my moms present.

Sounds good Lynn. I am glad she is happy.

Sometimes I think if you just breathe on Dad he will get a bruise.

That is why even though it might not be 100% perfect (just like me...not 100% perfect :D ) its still great and it feels like home.

not these days, they will accuse me of neglect, sending him to school with wet socks in this weather. times have changed. he got in trouble for flapping his shirt because he was too warm last week (it was a pajama day, he wore fleece and played too hard, but someone took offense)

its a fine parental line. i made him go out and shovel snow yesterday, hes pretty tough, but i cant do that if i cant have him change his socks. someone might take offense at his toes if i try to have him do it at school.
