I find a huge difference in organic home grown strawberries than the tasteless large chemically grown store bought. Store bought are huge but they are darn tart. Home grown are mostly sweet tasting and like a strawberry. I don't think pesticides make a fruit taste any better.

I'm ashamed to say it but I had a strawberry bacardi breezer recently and omfg it tasted exactly like fresh strawberries. I normally hate strawberry flavored things but this was just so good!
I just bought strawberries I'm gonna try that trick Orison suggested. These still have a bit of white/green at the top, so I'm assuming they were picked a little early. Probably be a bit tart. I find that strawberries taste the best if you eat them right before they turn into a moldy pile of mush
I this image from childhood of gorging on blackberries, ripe and warm from the sun, directly off of the bush. Just plucking them and savoring until I couldn't eat another. Just a perfect little memory.
usually I buy the whole tubs of strawberries and cut them all up.. once they are in the bowl with the sugar, they get soft and juicy.. Think I did this Saturday, now Wednesday .. They are sort of super mushy now. I dumped the rest of them and the juice into some almond milk. Mmm so good..
Strawberries might be an answer for me.....who is to say what the answer is for anyone else. I love strawberry milkshakes...I don't drink milk...but once in a blue moon, i want a strawberry milkshake, and when I do, that is the meal for me for the day. I have been thinking about strawberry milkshakes and fresh strawberries ever since i saw this thread. I think I last had a milk shake last summer. Oh, wrong, i had a shamrock shake this past March....Burger King made it thicker and better than McDonald's here. OK, point is, i do not drink them very often.
