Near the ocean, within a one hour drive of a major city, 4 distinct seasons, within a one hour drive of the mountains, 4 local professional sports teams (football, baseball, basketball, and hockey), and surrounded by culture and institutions of higher learning :2thumbsup: hotwater
What mountains are you going to get to within an hour of Boston? It takes that long just to get out of Boston!
Yeah, I guess I exaggerated a little. The mountains are more like 2.5 hrs away. But I can get out of town pretty fast most of the time, since I live near the Mass Pike. But I do love living in Boston; there's hardly any other place in the US where I'd rather live.
Haha, you and I would get along Jo King, look at my post I left today in the USA forum someone started revolving around NFL season: I have truly no more patience for the constant obsession over spectator sports. It engrosses my friends in mindless drivel all weekend long causing them to miss out on "real life." I like anyone else have some trivial pursuits but the majority of mine involve being in nature or spending time with family or attempting to make the world a better place through activism. I know that being a fanboy and having a "real life" aren't mutually exclusive but really....enough with the bread and circuses, wake up and live for your fellow man, don't root for them to get lifelong brain injuries. F*$k your local team... Can't wait to see what kind of flame war that comment starts.
Which Crescent City? The one up the Calif. coast from Arcata? Arcata's a nice town. Prescott Az's nice as citys go.
Oh dam I live in a sunny location with some of the best beaches in the world, a surfing culture and summer lasts forever (well almost)...way way from the US too
