I was thinking to myself one day "Where does the soul come into play of the body?" I know that there are a lot of personality characteristics that can be changed if you changed the chemical balance of the brain and I also know that given the right injury, the personality can be completely altered. I am not one to think the soul is the personality, but I am one to think that the brain is the organ that might actually connect the soul with the rest of the world however this idea, to me, brings lots of questions. Does everything with a brain have a soul? I am unsure but I surely wouldn't doubt it. I do know that a lot of Christians where I am from do not believe that animals have souls, but they are very prejudice and uneducated. Most of them don't even see that Jesus comes back a second time on a horse. I know my typing is a little off, but I'm sure that, for the most part, it is readable. I want to know what you guys think about the soul in regards to humans and if animals have souls as well.
The soul is the pilot in the plane. The mind is his console. And the body is his aircraft. Where do you want to go today? The "soul" is a concentration of awareness. Divine energy. It is the same in all things, but not all things are able to find the expression in life we have. x
does the 'soul' have anything to do with a brain? or awareness? if that is the case, then souls must be separate entities which exist independently of each other. but are they? are our souls like pieces of a machine, like cogs which turn each other over and over? and if you remove a single cog, would the whole machine fail? or rather, are our souls more like cups of water, dissolved into a vast ocean, each soul being a part of each other? i think so. i would say that there is a type of all-soul of which we are all a part of. i can't see a division between my soul and yours and the earth and the trees, etc. so, there is no such thing as a soul which exists separate from other things. we are all just one big soul experiencing itself.
man, i can only answer the question my way, because i've pondered it deeply and saw it displayed. i don't believe in a soul. not some higher existance. to me, the "soul" is just an egoism.
ALL THINGS IN NATURE HAVE SOULS/SPIRITS! animals (including us), birds, rocks, mountains, rivers, trees, flowers, ect. blessings xxx xx x
Only humans have independent souls. We're able to steer ourselves in a way that other creatures do not. All other animals share souls. There is one dog soul, one cat soul, etc. x
xenon that is pretty wild...i've never thought of it that way. but then what is the purpose of that one soul? what if all the dogs died? what would happen to it?
Even animal souls evolve spiritually on their own paths. They work their way up the ladder of evolution. In a diffused kind of way. Unlike individual souls, each animal soul is composed of a kind of hive complex, where many contribute to the group so that it moves as one soul. In creation, all things boil down to common denominators. In this case, the life force is the same in all things. The way it is expressed between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom is in the form of a hierarchy. A ladder. Humans are at the top. Microbes at the bottom. All life is pulled towards the top of this ladder by instinct. MUST evolve. As the kings of creation, we are charged with the responsibility of guardianship over it. The fact that humanity has made such a mess of it's own house is clear evidence of how immature the human race still is. And we have the nerve to call other animals dirty. x
I believe animals have souls. I believe consciousness and emotion are evidence of a soul. Plants are alive, but they don't think or cry or laugh. Animals experience fear, instinct to care for their own, they get attached to people. They experience loyalty, they express affection. Animals grieve too. I've heard of a dog whose owner died. The dog refused to eat, became completely lethargic and eventually died himself. We used to have a dog that was friends with one of our cats. When the cat died, he grieved and never got close to another cat again. My parents always told me that animals didn't have souls, but there's too much evidence to suggest otherwise.
hmmm...not sure i still understand. it really makes sense that all animals of a type would share one soul... im just saying ok let's talk about something that is about to be extinct. like those kooky tigers. if the become extinct...then what happens to that giant tiger soul that they were all a part of?
Think of it this way: Man is one tenth conscious, and the other 9/10 is subconscious. The soul is the "overself". The overself can send different parts of itself to do different kinds of work/evolution. Say one part is on earth learning various lessons whilst another is on a different planet in a different dimension advancing spiritually. Now think of this with animals, only on a grander scale and only one "overself" for each different type of animal. Each one is working for the collective growth of the overself - same with us humans, except we have independent overselves which add to the collective universal consciousness as a whole.
Notice I said they work their way up the ladder in a diffused kind of way. Where a human soul is solid, in a manner of speaking, an animal soul is kind of gaseous in nature. Remember, it's composed of many tiny parts. These tiny components can swarm off onto other souls of newer species of animals. They impart their experience to the newer soul so that it advances. In the event a species becomes extinct, these particles swarm off to other souls, which are of a similar level to their own. Nothing is lost in the life force itself. Just the packaging changes as it needs to according to the changes in environmental conditions. x
Well, I remember a christian show and a reverend saying that the Spirit/Soul is the breath of God within us. So maybe souls are simply God's breath in this clay body, I wouldn't know for sure.
xex what the hell ar you talking about? this is not christian doctrine. these things are not spoken of in the bible. jesus didn't talk about any gay animals. especially not stuff like seagulls and dogs because they did not exist at the time of creation! upon which authority do you have to say animals have the same soul. sounds like scientology to me. but be still and listen now because i tell you you still have a chance! to repent and be Saved if you return to The Lord.
Christian doctrine says little about the thread title. If there is to be any dicussion about it, it has to come from one's own point of view. If you can disprove any of what I've said, feel free to do so. I wrote what I saw. As for other Christians, they have little guidence in the matter as the bible is profoundly vague on the issue. Once again, it will have to be a personal viewpoint. And if I had returned to the Lord, how would you know? How could you tell? Only your human soul can deliver that answer. x
I do believe xexon has found self-realization. The only way to return to the "lord" is through yourself.
when you read the bible, your main purpose should be to cut through the bullshit. b/c, as we all know, there is a LOT of bullshit in the bible. god is a loving god full of light and mercy, but there are many accounts in there that contradict that statement. Religion can teach you very very little. Spirituality is where all your knowledge and lessons must come from.
Where did you see it? Ordinarily, the person who asserts something, particularly something as unusual as a collective animal soul, bears the burden of proof. I've never seen or heard anything like this anywhere else.
Welcome to my world. You have to prove it for yourself, else, how will you ever believe it? I'm not one of these people who will preach the hellfires to you. I merely want you to be open to the possiblility that what I say is true. It is the spirit of self discovery that I want people to see within themselves. I want you to see for yourselves. Whatever perceptions I have are freely available to those who choose to use them. But unlocking one's self from belief is a hard cut to make. It's a human thing. And as individuals such as Jesus illustrated, it doesn't have to stay that way. x
i think the idea of a collective animal soul makes absolute perfect sense. when i first read what xenon wrote, i literally laughed b/c it was so perfect. it is a question i've been plaguing myself with for a long time "do animals have souls" his answer is so simple and so right. really just sit down and think about it. just b/c someone didn't write it in a book doesn't mean it couldn't be. animals live on instict. they are all different in degrees, but all animals of a kind act the same. wouldn't a collective soul fit this description?
