Who's looking forward to it? Somehow having children around makes it more fun. Last year I spent Christmas with my boyfriend and his family, but I'm spending it with my own this year. My nephew is 2 1/2 now and he's more alert to things going on, and I'm really excited to make it a great experience for him. No one in my family seems too enthused about it, so I might take it upon myself to decorate and make it special. So... My holiday to-do list: Buy mother and Trent (nephew) gifts, buy new Christmas lights and those suction cup hook thingies that always get lost, come up with recipes for dinner and/or festive treats, and dust off the sweaters for the erratic cold fronts to come (because I'm in Florida). I got the first taste of cool weather today and it was just lovely. So what are you all doing?
Well, Im looking forward to the holidays for the most part, spending time with family etc... But the holidays at work is not good. Opening very early, to many customers, customers become angry during this tim for various reasons and take it out on us. I work in retail so yea... lol
haha its not possible. I dnt get paid vacation because i am part time and i need all the money i can get. Time to soldier up!!! :army: atriot:
Seeing my little rug rats play with what Santa has brought them. They are at that age where it's all a big magical time.
well, in mid december i'll finish my last full time semester (just one class left to take in spring) so i'm certainly looking forward to that. i have like 5 big papers to write before then though, so i'm not in a huge rush to get there.
It's just going to be my boyfriend and myself. We started a whiskey tango tradition of eating our Christmas dinner at Dennys.
I LOVE the holidays! I am super looking forward to them. I have to go to Santa Barbara for most of Thanksgiving week to work on a vegetation restoration thing, but I will have a whole month for Christmas. My family is renting a house on the Oregon coast for a week and I am also going to Rhode Island to visit my boyfriends family and then a trip to San Diego for a botany conference. But I love the whole Christmas thing, I love Christmas trees and presents and winter, so yeah, I am excited
I love the holidays. Not only because of the warm fuzzy feeling and family but I find that in general people tend to try to be kind. It brings out the best in a lot of people. Other than when they are shopping of course. It is a special time of the year.
My two favorite radio stations are already playing fucking christmas music So from now until January 1st it’s sports radio 24/7 Dennis and Callahan, The Big Show (with the Big-O) Toucher & Rich, Gresh & Zolak, Felger & Massarotti, and overnights J.T. the Brick (and Tomm Looney) :2thumbsup: Hotwater
I decided to start my Christmas shopping early this year so I can for sure afford it. And also so I don't do the " 'Oh, so and so would really like this,' and then decide to wait to buy it, then lose out because they don't have it anymore" thing. I also am going to try to get a nice looking wintery shirt because my sister-in-law is a photography student and she has to take family pictures during the holidays. Haha. But the closest holiday is my birthday on Saturday. I have a 3 day weekend, so Friday I'm going to renew my driver's license and see where the rest of the day takes me, and Saturday I'm spending the day with my dad and then having a party at my house that evening. Thanksgiving we'll spend at Daniel's family's house because his mom's Thanksgiving dinner doesn't include instant potatoes, lol. I celebrate Christmas with my family on Christmas Eve and then we spend Christmas day with his family. His family's Christmas is way better than mine's, and they make ribeyes.
Yeah, my early Christmas shopping didn't work out so well. Best of luck to you lol I'm broke. I know how you feel. Holidays with my boyfriend's family are much better. That's mostly because he's part of a big family that has get-togethers and stuff, and mine is more...isolated. The rest of our fam is in NY and we don't see them much. Our holidays are pretty boring and nothing special.
