    By Debra Ginsberg.

This is a strange novel, but a hell of a page-turner. It's about a young woman named Marina, who makes a good living as a psychic, or "intuitive counselor" as she calls it, despite the fact that she doesn't believe in such things herself. She gets by, she says, on her powers of observation and her natural intuition about people.

But then one day, after a series of startling incidents, she discovers that she really is psychic ... that she really does have a vision into the future ... and her life becomes a living hell. The worst of it is that she sees a vision of a young man's murder, and consequently becomes a prime suspect herself.

The novel is beautifully written and well-researched. It's part murder mystery, part psychological thriller, part fascinating look at a young woman's emotional emptiness. Good fun.
