If you've noticed, I've been asking around the forum (and other websites for that matter) about people's opinions on certain drugs.

I'm going to be working on a mildly-epic survey for a few drugs and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for questions. Here's a little brainstorming.

[Notice: this post isn't actually the survey I'll make it into a php script in a couples days or so depending on the questions - so don't actually answer the questions in here just suggest ones that aren't already here.]

I need to figure out a way to ask for a dosage - maybe I'll ask them to focus on a specific trip. For instance, pick your most memorable trip (good or bad?) OR I can have a button like + [Add trip] for every drug and then each trip will have certain questions (and you can add as many trips as you like)

As tempting as it is I'm going to have to ask you to refrain I'm going to make it into a script so the data will go into a database and we can analyze it in real-time.

What quality of LSD do you dose with?
[street? not street? i don't know]

This question is irrelevant. Nobody except for maybe some very old, 60+ years, people will have had access to anything but "street" LSD.
LSD has not been manufactured for general use since 1963 or thereabout when Sandoz labs stopped making it. A few other legitimate labs picked it up and produced small amounts up until 1966 when it was outlawed in the U.S. and then the rest of the world.
You may find a few people who have taken pharmaceutical LSD in some very recent and ongoing studies, but I rather doubt they frequent these type of forums.

Add to that the fact that for the most part there is no way to verify purity or dosage of any particular batch for 99.9% of users and you begin to see that any question put to the general LSD using population concerning quality and purity will be nothing but a guess in most cases.
So I can answer that question for you now on behalf of most everyone.
Street LSD
Unknown purity.

I guess the scientist in me says your survey is trying to ask questions that most users would only be able to guess at the answer, at least as far as dosage goes.
Mushrooms vary widely in potency so 1 gram from one batch/grower won't be the same as 1 gram from another batch.

Also why all the emphasis on bad trips?

Not trying to be a dick but you did ask for input.
I suggest doing more real research on these substances based on actual clinical research studies and then revisit the idea of your survey. I guarantee if you look up the clinical information that is available you will end up with different questions and a different format.

 

Well, I guess the question could be, do you KNOW it was pure (maybe your friend runs an LSD lab) vs whether you got it of the street.

It doesn't hurt to know how bad the trip was vs the dosage vs the type of shrooms. Sure, they may vary, but it would still be interesting to find correlations.

Why not? It's worth noting how bad trips affect people's opinion of the drug.

If you're so keen on clinical studies, why don't you suggest some questions that you think are interesting?

Again, you seem to think that a bad experience is the only possible one. Look at how you are wording all this.

If you are so interested in these drugs why AREN'T YOU keen on clinical studies? Would you rather get the factual information, and for LSD it's the most studied drug known, or do you prefer to get guesses, urban myths, and straight up BS from your survey.

If you are going to conduct a survey about drugs on this forum and then use those results to come to conclusions about them, then you are very misguided.
Although with your obsession over bad trips it would seem you have already come to your conclusions.

 

ya, all your questions for mushrooms and lsd are about bad trips, to me it seems like your fishing for infomation about bad trips and not tripping in a broader sence. i suppose thats all well and good if your looking for a survey about the nature of bad trips, nothing wrong with that. but if you are, then define it as such and ask deeper questions about what it really meant to have a bad trip. ...i think for a more balanced survey it would be more helpful in gathering accurate information if you'd leave the questions open, not slanted towards good or bad....somthing like: describe the quality of your expirience. or how do you feel about having had the expirience in hindsight.

your asking for suggestions, mine is to remain neutral in gathering information.

 

This survey is about opinions and questions that interest me. If you want to add questions to it feel free, but I don't feel any need to add "clinical" questions. Not that I even really understand what kind of questions you're referring to. Why don't you give me an example?

I don't have an obsession about bad trips, you can totally choose "No, I did not bad trip". Just FYI if you feel that the specific questions for LSD and Shrooms focus too much on bad trips, then you should read the general drug questions. You will see that those are pretty neutral. The fact is, a very prominent difference between LSD and MDMA is that you can't "bad trip" on MDMA (it's very rare at least). They may seem biased, but it's only because they can't find in the general category.

I do not feel it is biased.

Like I said, the survey is neutral. You can ask anything you feel like asking and I will add it.

By saying your survey is neutral you exhibit a fundemental lack of understanding concerning the scientific process and information gathering.
What part of how the question is asked will determine the answer recieced do you not understand.

A survey like this in order to be fair and accurate needs to be conducted along the lines of a double blind type of study.

Your bias is exhibited in the wording of your questions.
I suggested reading some clinical research as a way of learning how to "frame" your questions better. You may also get an education concerning these substances in the process.

 

The survey itself is neutral, the wording of the questions perhaps not. I'm perfectly aware how to word questions. This original post was brainstorming, it's not about how the questions are worded but rather what they ask. (I know, instead of saying "Did you have a bad trip?" I could say "What kind of trip did you have")

alright so ive done all those drugs.

only eat rolls, rarely molly. only roll usually 5 times a year.

tripped acid like 7 times, loved every trip (of coarse there were "bad parts" to a trip, but there are also bad times in life too so..)

tripped shrooms like 3 times, liked it but didnt love it. my trips have good and bad moments.

personally i never label a trip as good or bad...its pointless. who cares.

 

Update: progress is going well despite some technical difficulties.

still open to questions if people want to add any!

Yay! I did it!

 

Sometimes trips aren't so "black" and "white". Bad things can happen during a trip but overall it can be good so I feel as though for the readers of potential results it can be slightly misleading. Perhaps add a "neutral".

 

I'm going to keep it as it is right now and work on new questions for a version 2.

Shrooms:

okay so i've been getting a lot of these addiction comments. i know the wording isn't great. my logic of the thinking was the following: there's one extreme; where you can't live without it. then, technically, the other extreme is you hate it so much you couldn't live with it. that's how i made the "addiction scale". i understand how you're not addicted, but you like to do it a lot. honestly, if you don't like the wording, PLEASE suggest another wording. don't just say it's bad wording without a suggestion. thanks

i think i'll turn the "did you have a bad trip" into a slider-style question...
