This book is a living testament about someone with cancer who cured herself that was given a short time to live. I read it many years ago, and it is an uplifting book to read on many levels. I believe in this book. It is one of my bibles...and grapes were the food in the bible.... I go on this periodically, as it is good for most anything ailing you.......I may go on it again soon just because..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Grape-C...498?pt=US_Nonfiction_Book&hash=item540c0908aa
Pure quakery moonie, sorry...http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Cancer/grape.html The Grape Diet "Brandt claimed that, "The grape is highly antiseptic and a powerful solvent of inorganic matter deposits, fatty degeneration, morbid and malignant growths. It acts as a drastic eliminator of evil while building new tissue." She reported that it was such a powerful "builder" that a patient that her treatment had enabled an emaciated patient to gain eight pounds in only two days. She claimed that "abnormal growths, cancers, tumors, ulcers, abscesses and fibrous masses seem to be dissolved by the powerful chemical agent in the grape." She claimed that "the secret of the Grape Cure in wasting diseases is to be found in the rich protein supplied by the grape," that grapes are "the most magnetic food," and that every tendril of the grape is "a living receiver of cosmic magnetism." There is no scientific evidence that the Johanna Brandt's "Grape Cure" has any value. Even worse, her recommended diet is deficient in most essential nutrients and can cause constipation, diarrhea, cramps, and weight loss that is undesirable for cancer patients. The only nutrients present in significant amounts in grapes are carbohydrates, potassium, and vitamins A, B6, and C [9,10]. Brandt even describes how her diet is a form of starvation, but she claims that is desirable! Pages 66 and 67 of her book state: Under the Grape Diet, [the disease] should run its full course within a month or six weeks. The patient loses weight to an extent that would be alarming if he did not understand the principle of the Cure. While on the first stage of the Grape Diet, nothing should be administered to make him gain weight -- no food of any kind except the grape. In advanced cases it is sometimes by reducing him to a virtual skeleton that the disease may be overcome. When in severe cases he has reached this point, there is nothing left for the cancer to live on and it usually disappears spontaneously. The Grape Cure is a book worth ignoring." (bold added GS)
Not sure about grapes, but ketogenic diets have been found to cure cancer, as cancer cells are fueled by glucose/fructose, which, ironically, is found in grapes.
Didn't read the above, just passing this along. My Father gave me some grapes last week. Absolutely no flavor and Erin, who loves grapes, won't eat them. Guess not all grapes are created equal. Probably GMO.
OK, but try it sometime if you have something minor for a day or two. It always works for me....and yes, it does starve the cancer..... You don't like that one...ok, how about the beets and vinegar diet?:drool5::rofl:
Nonsense, did you even read the book? A day or two is not even following the method outlined in the book. Fasting for two or three days, during which only cold water is consumed. A daily enema is also given. After the fast, a diet of only grapes is followed for one to two weeks. One to three ounces of grapes are consumed every two hours during the day (seven meals a day). Water could be consumed as needed. Fresh fruits, tomatoes, and sour milk or cottage cheese are then added to the diet. A variety of raw foods are then introduced. A mixed diet is begun. This consists of one kind of fruit each day for breakfast, a cooked lunch, and a salad for supper. The American Cancer Society reviewed the "Grape Cure" in 1965, 1971, 1974, and 2000. and found no evidence of benefit against human cancer or any other disease [4,5]
earth to you, Gong...Yes, I stated that I read the book in my opening... I said....if you have a flu or something minor, try it for a day or two......as that works for me I am not speakng of cancer now......It makes me better and feel better always....and to me that is not nonsense.....but you can believe it to be nonsense. I will not stop you.....I was trying to help here..... sall..... don't want to try it, that is fine, too.....
If you are going according to the book, you can't just try it for a day or two, do you understand that? If eating grapes make you feel better, fine, grapes are good healthy food, but that has nothing to do with with the regiment outlined in the book. And you don't have to feel all hurt about it, I'm discrediting the book, not you personally of your personal experiences.
gong, I am not hurt...perhaps I don't get what I am trying to say across very well.... If I was diagnosed with cancer...damn right, I will try this.....and go by the book to the t...I have the book here.....and can refresh anytime...My point, is that I can take my own truths from just about anything and apply to my own life...maybe not in the same way, though....but in a different way for something else....
If this actually worked to cure cancer, I'm fairly certain that we would have all heard about this by now.
yeah, maybe......but when I just eat grapes for a day or two or 3 and drink organic grape juice, and nothing else.... I always feel wonderful...I wonder why I am not doing it now...... and gong knows I love him, too...
Eating a bit of fresh fruit is fine and there is no problem with bit of canned fruit -providing the juice is discarded. I usually have a jar of sour cherries in stock as I have had attacks of gout. I also usually keep frozen blueberries in stock. But when it comes to fruit juice it is all to easy to consume far too much fructose. Prior to the 1980s you could only buy citrus juices and these are not as high in fructose as other fruit juices.it was in the 1980s obesity rates took off. It takes a while for one person to eat five shop size apples , but only 30 seconds to drink the juice of the same five apples.
A good substitute for soda is seltza water with something like lime or a cherry concentrate or cranberry concentrate dash, right? I have to admit...I like the bubbly drink things that soda's give...so seltzer is ok, right?
i prefer juices to sodas, much better taste, also more expensive usually. Adding some sprite to juice (and coincidentally, especially grape juice ) is great also. Grapes are good, i especially like the green seedless variety.
Seltzer water is OK. I prefer bottled mineral water, however. I don't need things to be sweet to enjoy them, so any kind of unflavored, unadulterated water is fine with me. I think mineral water has the best taste, though. If you are looking to liven up the taste of your water, lemon works well.
ever had BLK water? http://getblk.com/ ive had it, if it wasn't black you wouldn't know it was black if that makes sense. You can taste the minerals though of course and it is pretty good
I did buy it a few years back because I was curious. I found it to be a bit gimmicky and not really worth the price. When I was referring to mineral water, I was referring to stuff like San Pellegrino and Gerolsteiner, which naturally contain minerals.
