    The Eyes
    By: me

She walked slowly down the dark, little hallway and around the corner. The movie had already started while she was in the other room. They all stared numbly at the images flowing across the screen. She walked pass the television. The eyes didn’t blink.

Vivaciously, her head exploded upwards and she stared straight ahead of her. The hand moved from her sides to the rim of her loose jeans. It dipped clumsily into her pants and reached down, moving the fingers slowly around the wet crease between her legs.

Quickly the hand shot up above her pants and floated there for a moment. The hand slowly came to her face. She moved closer to the cool wetness on it and strained the eyes to see in the darkness. The nose came close and she smelled the creamy goo.

The eyes darted up and stared straight ahead. Her posture straightened and she pivoted around disappearing up the stairs.

The eyes on the couch didn’t blink once.

He laid on the trampled bed and stared at the ceiling. Watching the dust float in the air across the massive head. The color on the floor blended in the back of his eyes and pictures floated up in front of him; images crossed the soul. He was solemn peace and horror. He looked down at was not his, smiled, then rolled to his side and was drifting in the world of the mind.

She turned the corner at the top of the stairs. The hands hovered in mid-air in front of her lifelessly. The goo started hardening on the finger tips.

She walked through the opening in the wall and stopped. The feet twisted her to face the cold dark wall. The dark image in front of her turned the light on and she faced the mirror. The eyes darted down to the hands as the redness hardened even more on the finger tips. The eyes went up and stared inertly into the pair in front of her.

She lifted the toilet seat getting the dirty redness on it, and sat down. The eyes stared blankly ahead as the hands rested on the knees.

The hands moved to the side and pulled the knob for the water to pour into the empty tub below. The steam climbed up into the air. She got up and the hands pulled the pants and underwear off. They tossed them to the side and she walked to the now filled tub. The steam climbed higher and the feet stepped in. The body sat in the scorching water. The skin turned pink. The steam rose higher. The water poured.

The eyes on the couch didn’t blink once.

He turned slowly in the wind. The sky was bright down on him. He turned from the sun and looked ahead. The trees called for him to sit in their cool shade. His feet walked to them and with each step could feel the heat disperse. They stopped in front of the tree and he sat down. As he sat, a deep grey cloud covered the sun and the grass below turned brown. He looked up and the tree top disappeared as he sank into the dirt. He went deeper and fell hard on a cushioned ground.

They were all sitting in a circle around the purple shag carpet. The mixtures of smokes clouded their eyes. His eyes looked around at them as the hands moved to grab the glimmering bowl being passed to them. They grasped the glass tightly in them and moved towards his head. The glass bowl in them slithered downward and his hands jumped for it.

Brokenness stabbed his hands and the redness protruded.

She jerked in the water and watched as it sloshed around in the tub. At once she stood up and stepped out. Standing in the middle of the spinning green room. The ears listened as the body felt the water droplets slide down rippling the skin. She was in front of the mirror. The eyes watched the image clean the small room and empty the blood stained water from the tub. The head turned to watch when the murky water spun down the hole on the other side. The hands grabbed the towel hanging on the wall and swiped at the space between her. Rubbing in the towel back and forth, the head fell upwards and the eyes rolled back into it. The mouth opened to let out a sigh and a tear rolled down the cheek.

The hands put it all away and pulled the pants up hiding the redness with towels. She was taken out of the bathroom and the feet turned the corner to join the others in the basement again.

The eyes on the couch didn’t blink once.

He startled from his desperate sleep and clawed at his hand. Sitting up in the trampled bed. His eyes stared around the cold room. He got up and stood quietly for a moment. Time stood still. The coolness of the basement room made the tiny primitive hairs on his body stick up. Ripples of cold chased each other threw him. His hands wiped him off and he pulled his pants up. He opened the door. His arms put the tight blue t-shirt on as he neared them on the couch.

She walked down the stairs. The heat from upstairs subsided into the cold of the undergrounds. The feet stopped at the last step and he was there. He turned his head and looked at the eyes. He held them close to him and her body collapsed in his. His hands moved up and down the back side and the hands hugged his shoulders. His soul cradled hers as his lips moved down the neck. The eyes dripped as he held her soul to his.

His hand grabbed for its partner and pulled her with. They walked pass the eyes on the couch staring at the images flashing on the screen. His body sat on the floor and pulled hers onto it. His cradled hers in tenderness and the eyes saw bliss.

The flashing images turned black and the writing rolled across the screen. They eyes on the couch all stretched and laughed.

    “wow”

    “holy fuck”

    “fuckin trippy man”

    “amazing”

    “lets do it again”

A pair of the eyes from the couch jumped up and ran to the room down the small hall. The hands belonging to them turned the light switch on and moved around mechanically getting what they wanted.

The pair of eyes from the couch came back to the rest. Their hands handed their possessions to another pair of hands belonging to another pair of eyes. This new pair started to take the fresh smelling grass out of the little bag and piled it in. Then they poured some water into the long tube and smiled at the rest.

Meanwhile, the original pair of eyes from the couch moved the coffee table and threw out the purple shag carpet. The group all smiled and circled around sitting on the edges. He pushed her off of him and pulled her into the circle with the rest.

They all sat smiling at one another at the idea of what they were going to do. The mind can handle much sometimes. Other times, it can’t.

The original pair of eyes from the couch grabbed the matches in the center and light one. The fire exploded on the end of the stick and then died down to a slow blaze. The eyes brought the tube nearer the mouth. They clung close to it and inhaled the sweat cooled smoke. The head pulled up and flung back grinning. The pair of eyes from the couch burned bright and then glazed over.

The hands owned by the pair of eyes, passed the tube around the group and the same actions were taken each time. Each pair of eyes burned bright for a spilt second, and then glazed over coldly.

The tube came to him. He grabbed it with both hands and carefully brought it to his mouth so it would not crush like the image he witnessed before. His lips went to the opening and he breathed in deeply inhaling the sweet sweet herbs. He leaned back and the eyes saw his eyes burn brighter than ever before as the turned to her to say goodbye. His eyes blinked and turned to the cold glaze as his hands passed the tube to her. All the eyes together watched for her mouth to bend to the tube. She sank into silence as the cold glazed eyes held her close and pushed her to jump into the endless abyss of it all.

    Same here. Wow.

I find it interesting that you refer to the body parts as if they were separate from their owners. It's as if they moved on their own or something. A bit confusing in some parts, but otherwise very ingenous(sp?). I also the repetitive line: "The eyes on the couch didn't blink once" - very good.

All in all, it gives me the feeling of a mind trip.
