I remember 4 years ago when Trump was named the new president, I was in shock. It was hard for me to believe that people actually voted for this guy. Having never cared for the man, knowing that the only person he ever cared for was himself. I know it was going to be a rough 4 years, little did I know. But being on the losing side and all the suggestions of Russia interference, I never would have gone to the places that the GOP are trying to go to now. I would have never wanted our to go down that rabbit hole. Like we are going down now. People actually wanting to hurt others because they lost. It almost seems to be leading to a civil war again. Gun sales through the roof, people hoarding supplies. In all my 60 years in this country I have never cared that much about who was president. And never to the extent people do now. I would have never even thought about harming someone because of it. The country has voted and the outcome is what it is, I'm pretty sure we will be better off because of it. I am hoping things will go back to some sort of normalcy. But I will say this about our government, they are a real mess. And need to change many things. But putting our country in real chaos is not the way. Carrying guns and threatening people is not the way to go. With all our differences I believe we can still can find even ground, and compromise. All I want is a better place for our kids, better then it was when I was growing up. We are letting them down right now.
travelguy61, my agreements with all that. A bit rushed for time now, but will try to offer some comments on yours later. Thanks for the post, and the thread.
Yes, I agree also, however--republicans do not play fair--never have and are showing AGAIN--that they care only for their raw power , money from and for the richest, and not the good of our country. I've been around for 81 years and this currant shit show is the latest show that reveals republicans for who they are, what they will do to win, how immoral they are (most) and they don't care a whit for democracy. They are cowards, hypocrites and have learned exactly what type of Americans that will worship them and are following that playbook to the end. The truly sad part is that 74 million people can fall for their BS and exhibit such cultish behavior. These cultists are NOT going away after the orange yam is forced to go and will be around screwing up the works for years. "Trump should be shuttled out of town on January 20th riding backward on a Jackass with a clown suit on." (read that on the net earlier--it's right on.)
So far, we have a 60y/o, an 81 y/o, and a 73 y/o (me). Seems like a good overview of time passing for quite awhile.
No, no, no, no, no !!! - I will not knuckle under to some idiot who thinks I should obey their rules. I want, and have strived for a better society all my life, a better and more perfect democracy without some arrogant, ignorant aristocrat trying to dictate to me, nor will I buckle down to some scumbag 'nasty party' politician either simply because his daddy is lord something or other - they can sod off. If this opinion makes me unpopular on here - sobeit !!!
The French, the Italians, the Russians, the Rumanians and Yugoslavs (to name but a few) all managed to get rid of their aristocracy - the beginning of a bettter democracy.
Carrying guns and threatening people is not the way to go?.....in your country? There were like 15,000 firearm homicides in your country a year before Trump even thought of running
This thread has taken a bizarre turn. It started out as a place for some rational discussion, base on factual observations and moderate opinions. It has now gone off the rails into vague generalizations of bizarre, arcane theories. I'M OUTA HERE !!!
