It would be different if Bo and Luke Duke were portrayed as serious, insightful characters who had informed opinions about history. The show puts out the message that clueless idiots drive around with Confederate flags on their cars. Or at least they did in the 1970's. Sounds accurate to me.

It would also be different if we were talking about a show that's still in production.

One of the more interesting things about surfing old shows is how different everything is from today.

I agree (already when you see a typical 90s show.. ). That's why it is such a pity when shows are banned or books re-edited (Mark Twain and the n word for example).

 

I thought it was a lame show when I was a kid. I dont think I got much out of the few shows that I did watch. They are 36 years too late in not continuing to air it, in my opinion.
