What impresses me is the objectivity of the program. They are not saying drugs are bad or good. They are jusy telling the history of such substances.
Hell yeah that shit was awesome! i was hooked from the 60s rate up to the 90s. lol man that was interesting!
loved it. saw it last night; I just cracked a wide smile when I saw my generation (the rave babies of the late 80's/early 90's) ::bump bump bump bump:: ecstacy?...ehh... I preferred 'cid. rave was like the modern hippie culture.
hells yes...that was my generation, too but i love(d) the E I thought the program was fantastic...what I really loved is when they showed parst of the movie with Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters on the bus....If anyone has read the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, you know what Im talking about!!! oh, vh1 is showing it, but I think it was originally made for Sundance....or whatever
definitely an awesome documentary. i give props to sundance channel and vh1, i believe it was both of them that showed it. im just hoping for it to be on dvd one of these days. i found it to be enjoyable and interesting at the same time. i mean who doesnt love watching stuff from the 60s/70s/whatever decade you are into?!? awesome stuff, man.
I've been without TV for a while, but not that I got it back, I'm gonna have to check the listings and see when this comes on again. It's quite a sweet show.
Just to let you all know. Tonight starting at 8pm on VH1 Classic they will be replaying the whole series of "The Drug Years"... I shall be recording it.. such an awesome series. =)
I think they did a really good job by keeping a middle ground and I really think the best is how they show how much influenced in the culture of the decades.
