The dreaded "stomach virus"...

..The nasty (high contagious) norovirus appears to have made its way to me. I experienced diarrhea and heavy vomiting all last night from about 9 p.m. - 4 a.m. ...it was dreadful! I did manage to get some sleep though. I'm feeling better today..seems like the vomiting has subsided. I've been replenishing my fluids and will probably attempt to eat some crackers and applesauce soon.

I hate this thing! Just plain sucks...people said it has been going around my college, which is most likely where I picked it up. Apparently it can be stored inside you for like 2 weeks. I'm going to try and disinfect our bathroom later.. and will probably wash my sheets/pillows when it's over.

I was planning on drinking a few beers and watching the superbowl at a friends place tomorrow (sunday)..hopefully this won't put a damper on my plans...

anyways, any of you have some "stomach virus" stories to share? lol... to hell with this "virus" !

 

A lot of times it is actually food poisoning, but if it has been going around your school then maybe not.

I've been lucky enough to not have had anything like that for quite a few years now, but it is awful when it happens.

The only thing I ate yesterday was a burrito from Chipotle for lunch... then I got sick around 9:00pm. However my cousin didn't get sick and he had a burrito as well..only he got steak in his. I got the grilled chicken in mine... hmmm. I still think it's probably the stomach virus though.

oh dude, I had this when I went down to miami a few years ago.... worst ever.. good thing about it is it only lasts about 12 hours then you start feeling way better.

What alot of people dont know is when you get it, you are still contagious for up to 3 days after you start feeling better, so good luck getting to that super bowl party, but guaranteed you will infect 1 to all of the people there.

 

The last time I ate a burrito from Chipotle's, I got sick like that, too.

I haven't gotten the stomach bug in years, but if I did, I know of ways to get through it in a matter of hours using a large dose of iodine and a good probiotic supplement. (The same applies to food poisoning as well.)

I was exposed to a particularly virulent strain of the stomach bug at work this year. All my coworkers came down with it, but I didn't.

 

I've only had one stomach virus in my life and it sucked. I hope I never get another one. I felt fine when I woke up so I hopped out of bed and then puked and pooped myself before making it out of my bedroom.

I have a pretty strong stomach though, I've never really been susceptible to viruses hopefully that one time was just an anomaly.

 

yeah, fuck....i guess i will probably just stay in my apartment I live w/ 4 other people though so i'm probably going to have to try and disinfect our place sometime tomorrow... (and wash my blankets/pillows). though i have no urge to do that whatsoever currently..

Dang if only I had that supplement n idodine last night lol.. well, i suppose i'm through the worst of it though..

I have been extremely sick from drinking dirty water, it was many years ago.

 

Got one recently which had such severe diarrhea and vomiting that I got extremely weak and lost consciousness. Wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.

 

Care to share? I could use some reassurance that I wont get it this year... (I'm going to miami and this year is especially bad for noro down there)

 

I remember puking for days as a kid. I've done a shit ton of drugs and booze as an adult and only have puked once.

But I have this lube tech at work who is puking all the time it seems like. And everytime I send his ass home. I don't care if you are coughing sneezing and hacking shit up out of your lungs but if you are puking you're going home.

After he left I noticed he puked in the trashcan by his work area and left it there. Who the fuck does that? I threw it in the dumpster. Best case scenario is he has to go buy himself a trashcan. Worst case is he's fired. This is not the first incident and I'm over it.

Moral of the story if you are puking stay the fuck home.

 

I haven't gotten sick in years. I take a probiotic every day. Now applesauce sounds good and I don't usually like applesauce.

 

They still have bubonic plague there.
