Americans are so stupid they bought into their own propaganda hook-line-and-sinker. Free market enterprise would destroy the world economy and the US along with it, and we've never had anything remotely like free markets, unless you consider someone pointing a gun at your head and demanding your wallet a free market. The US economy is based on corruption, because nobody could derail this gravy train if they tried. Our glorious leader is upsetting international markets and threatening our economy, but the idea he could actually derail the international conglomerates is a joke.

Honesty is only a lonely word, when the entire mass media is paid to lie about everything imaginable, and our academics as well. Even corruption in academia has been steadily increasing, and the lawyers are all arguing over paywalls.

Not really, Trump is the unnamed co-conspirator to two felonies which landed Michael Cohen in prison.

 

Nobody in their right fucking mind believes Trump isn't guilty of any number of crimes, but white collar crime might as well be legal in the US. The issue is how much our glorious leader can get away with, which presents a challenge lawyers would love to explore.

 

Your explanation is defective. College students are not culpable for that which we have been led to. The modern ideas presented by the college student have been rejected by the rich Republicans who hold most of America's wealth. Look at what the Republicans have done to environmental protections, to worker's rights, and to minority rights. A famous French thinker once said, "Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains." I say that condition is a result of greed which lives at the core of Republican ideology.

 

Sorry to disappoint, but all the people involved in our government and legislative system went to college, and this is the best they can do.

You can vote as many of the bums out of office as you want, but a study by Princeton over twenty years indicated it makes no damned difference whatsoever and only the wealthy ever get anything they want. Voting bums out of office is no substitute for having someone to replace them. Everyone voting for whoever advertises the most in local and national elections merely invites every bum looking for a higher paying job with Wall Street. I know its hard to imagine, but congress sets their own pay scale, and couldn't care less about your opinions, unless you happen to be one of the lobbyists spending a billion dollar a year to entertain congress. Its not a coincidence that congress is now composed of lawyers all advertising as much as possible on TV. Libertarians have given their own government no choice but to go for the money and control of the mass media.

Bizarre as that might sound, Libertarians made it illegal to vote for Mickey Mouse, because everyone voting for whoever offers the lowest tax cuts just invites every bum imaginable willing to promise to screw everyone else. Screw your neighbor is a national pastime for Libertarians, which is why I have no sympathy for them suddenly dropping like flies from a lifetime of spouting crap. Even their own children are starting to disown them and have abandoned fundamentalist services altogether, while their politicians are begging their white constituents to do their duty to their country, and make babies instead of just money.

I tell people, you have to be smarter than a damned chicken, or you are the chickenshit chicken! Without heart kid, ya got nothing.

 

I agree, somewhat, with what you are saying, but I think if the idiots in this country refused to pay taxes, or something of that nature, it might make a statement. It's obvious to me that if the people in this country want change, then the people have to make the change.

Our money supply tells us far more than the hot air bloviators in Washington and the picture isn't all that good. The velocity of money simply put is the rate at which one Dollar is used to purchase goods and services per unit of time therefore as turnover increases a higher velocity.

There's talk among bankers now that what is truly needed are negative rates. If they're enacted first banks will be charged interest for deposits of excess reserves made to the Federal Reserve then going truly negative will mean holders of savings accounts and checking accounts will be charged interest for deposits. The theory is that as citizens wake up to the fact their deposits are being drained away they'd rather spend than save it as saving too long means it disappears eventually anyway.

Several Years ago then Chairman Janet Yellen alluded to the fact the FED was considering just such a move if things turned South again. They're about to and soon we'll see Jerome Powell backing up on interest rates right back to zero and then what? It's likely not to produce the target 2% inflation rate so what's next? The only tool they have at that point is going negative.

The M2 Velocity chart shows that ten years of zero rates couldn't get velocity off the mat so thinking this time will be different is ludicrous.

The same thing happened in ancient Rome and is what Hitler was trying to achieve. Rome was originally a widely respected democracy with a thriving middle class, which the international conglomerates corrupted. The conglomerates are fucking steam rollers, that all use the same basic total war approach and Three Stooges cutthroat poker. They divide and conquer using even classic hammer and anvil tactics, just with money. Racism pays off, in that it keeps the population divided and easier to manipulate. Making everything about race, money, sex, violence, drugs, and rock-n-roll is big bucks, which is why the white population is crashing and so is that of Japan.

They exploit even themselves out of existence, and many hippies refer to them as a cannibalistic culture.
