    John Dean was smart enough to abandon ship when it became evident the captain was becoming unhinged. Doesn’t say much for the current cult in the WH.

    So Trump doesn’t like “high” interest rates. Another absurdity. As an economist I’m appalled. Economists know that there really is a time preference for money. The current rates, lowby almost any standard, are not enough to encourage savings. Instead the economy now depends on the stock market to raise money for investment. This is akin to depending on a casino to pay your mortgage. Also it is speculative, fosters income disparity, and leaves retirees ripe to have their pockets picked by “deal” makers like Trump.

    Trump's fortune is in real estate, by merely driving down interest rates he could double his fortune, and blame some economist.
