And Trump started Labor Day with attacks on the leader of AFL-CIO...and again claimed his unemployment numbers are better...and completely forgetting what he had claimed about unemployment numbers being fake.

This isnt neccessarily Trump news, the US was backing Saudi Arabia well before Trump, but figured I would out this here since this specific thing is happening under his watch.

    https://tytnetwork.com/2018/08/30/pentagon-to-train-saudi-pilots-on-us-soil-amid-yemen-uproar/

    This should end well.

Also say what you will about the personalities of TYT, they annoy me too, but they've been doing a bang up job with their investigative reporting lately. No other media outlet seems particularly concerned with the US's part in the war in Yemen

It's kind of hard to pity them because they voted for Trump, but at the same time it must be really frustrating to be so desperate for change and yet your only options are bad and terrible. Maybe they voted for terrible because they felt like it would force bad to get better?

Seriously, it's a lie that the jobs are ever going to come back from China. If you punish China, they'll go to Vietnam. Punish Vietnam, they'll go to India. Punish India, they'll go to Bangladesh. Punish everyone in the world... and your own economy collapses.

These people need to stop trying to be 'real men' or lazy or stupid or whatever it is that makes them think that high school grads deserve enormous sums of money to be human robots and start adapting to the world we're actually living in.

We're about to start hearings on confirmation of Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh. But the Senators won't be able to see 264.000 documents about his record at the White House, because Trump is invoking "executive privilege" to keep them back. The documents pertain to actions long before Trump came to the White House and long after Kavenaugh left it--during the G.W. Bush administration. Bush has said release them, but the Donald says No. What does he have to hide? This is yet another instance of the "we've got the power" game that the Republicans in the White House and Congress are playing that seem to run afoul of a basic sense of fair play--without which there can be no legitimate government.

Trump obviously would like to add a person to the Supreme Court who would be favorable to protecting a President who is named as a co-conspirator to a crime, indicted or unindicted. It's a race to have Kavanaugh confirmed before mid-terms and before someone can name Trump as a co-conspirator.

Democrats call for delaying Kavanaugh hearings

    excerpt:

"Several Democrats called for the delay of confirmation hearings Wednesday, or said that they would not meet with Kavanaugh at all, a typical courtesy by senators before hearings begin. New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and California Sen. Kamala Harris, who are both considered to be potential 2020 presidential candidates, had previously raised concerns about Kavanaugh's views on executive privilege.

"As it relates to the Kavanaugh nomination and the hearings that are scheduled to happen in just two weeks, I would suggest that an unindicted co-conspirator to a crime should not be in the business of having the ability to appoint someone to a lifetime position on the highest court in our land, a court which, invariable, would hear the matters that are the subject of this very discussion," Harris told MSNBC Wednesday.

Sens. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii and Ed Markey of Massachusetts canceled their meetings with Kavanaugh Wednesday.

"I have cancelled my meeting with Judge Kavanaugh. @realDonaldTrump, who is an unindicted co-conspirator in a criminal matter, does not deserve the courtesy of a meeting with his nominee—purposely selected to protect, as we say in Hawaii, his own okole," Hirono tweeted Wednesday. "Okole" is a Hawaiian term for backside."

Trump blasted for withholding documents on Brett Kavanaugh ahead of senate hearing
    By Staff Reuters

Democrats slam White House for withholding documents on Supreme...

    excerpt:

"Dick Durbin, the No. 2 Senate Democrat, said in an interview aired on “Fox News Sunday” that the White House’s citation of privilege on the documents was the first time that had occurred.

“There has been more concealment of documents that are concerning his public service and his position on issues than ever in the history of the United States … If he’s so proud of his conservative credentials, show us the record,” Durbin said.

Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Judiciary Committee member, echoed Durbin’s concerns in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, saying, “This is not normal.”

Republicans have dismissed Democrats’ concerns over lack of access to portions of the record on Kavanaugh’s background, arguing their criticism is politically motivated."

White House Invokes Executive Privilege on Vast Cache of Kavanaugh Documents

White House Invokes Executive Privilege on Vast Cache of Kavanaugh Documents

    excerpt:

"But so far, Democratic indignation over documents has not really broken through to the public, and neither have any of the more eye-opening revelations about Kavanaugh’s past — like the fact that he once said he admired William O. Rehnquist’s dissent in Roe v. Wade, and suggested that the Supreme Court gave President Nixon an unfair shake back in 1974.

And though the idea of Kavanaugh’s confirmation is not popular with the public, it was always going to be a heavy lift for Democrats to block his nomination, given the cold reality of Senate math. With moderate Republican Senator Susan Collins giving Kavanaugh a warm reception and the death of Senator John McCain meaning that Republicans now have two votes to spare in the confirmation fight, the odds of his candidacy going down in flames seem more remote than ever."

    Trump goes after Sessions again.
Jeffery has decided to go ahead with the prosecution of Republicans Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-California, and Rep. Chris Collins, R-New York, on various charges ranging from fraud, lying, insider trading, and conspiracy.

Trump had wanted him to hold off until after the upcoming elections in order to influence those elections.
Sessions choose to live up to past DOJ standards of remaining above political influence and giving possible advantages to any candidate or party.

Trump's own EPA reports that his roll back of coal regulations will lead to an additional 1.4 to 2.4 deaths per 100,000 every year due to increased pollution in affected areas.
That's where I used to live, 3 miles from the Mason Dixon Line, glad I moved out'a there.

Trump and Guilianni just said they will not permit Mueller's report to be released. Rudy said "parts of it" might be blocked?

Rudy Giuliani On White House Blocking Release Of Full Mueller Report: ‘I’m Sure We Will’
In an interview, the Trump attorney also said that his team was preparing a lengthy report rebutting special counsel Robert Mueller’s expected findings.

Rudy Giuliani On White House Blocking Release Of Full Mueller Report: ‘I’m Sure We Will’ | HuffPost

    excerpt:

"As Vox explained in an earlier article, Mueller is only required by law to deliver a final report to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who will ultimately decide whether to release any or all of Mueller’s findings to Congress or the public.

Victoria Nourse, a Georgetown law professor, told Vox that Trump could also “order” Rosenstein not to release it.

“But,” she added, “that’s a bit like firing Mueller, as many Republicans have warned — it just ups the case for impeachment because the president appears to be hiding something.”

Whatever the White House’s reaction ends up being to Mueller’s ultimate findings, the assessment is expected to trigger contentious political bickering as Rosenstein is pressured from different sides to release ― or suppress ― the information.'"

    An article from September 2015.

Trump never did get rid of the carried interest provision. He didn't become specific about all of the proposed elimination of loopholes and deductions that are used by the wealthy, only vaguely referring to them during the campaign.

He has only implemented a corporate tax cut which, to date, is the only major piece of legislation that he has signed that could be called an achievement. Even the legislative 'achievement' isn't what he promised in terms of helping the working class and taxing the wealthy.

Trump: My tax plan is 'going to cost me a fortune'
The billionaire businessman promises to close loopholes on the rich, lower overall rates, and free half of Americans from income tax.

Trump: My tax plan is 'going to cost me a fortune'

    excerpt:

"NEW YORK — Billionaire businessman Donald Trump took to the lobby of his famed Trump Tower on Monday morning and pledged to slap himself with a huge tax hike.

"It’s going to cost me a fortune, which is actually true," the Republican presidential front-runner candidate told reporters, as he unveiled a bold — and fairly detailed — tax plan, under which half of Americans would pay no federal income tax and the rich would face closed loopholes and slashed deductions.

The audacious statement, like many of Trump's proclamations, was hard to fact check. While it's true that the plan would knock out cherished tax breaks, such as the carried interest provision dear to some Wall Street money managers, he didn't specify many of the other deductions that the super rich would no longer enjoy under a Trump presidency. And many of the lost tax breaks will be offset by a pretty sizeable overall rate reduction."

Trump's trade actions are heating up quickly

    exerpt:

"U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer last week sent a note to Congress announcing the administration's intent to sign a final deal in 90 days. That starts a 30-day clock for the White House to resolve all issues -- including Canada's involvement -- and send the final text to Congress.

Adding more urgency: The current Mexican administration under President Enrique Peña Nieto leaves office at the end of November when the newly elected administration takes office.

Negotiations are expected to resume Sept. 5 with representatives from Canada, perhaps the most integrated U.S. trade partner. Wrote UBS's Carpenter: "NAFTA talks will likely continue at a furious pace for the next 30 days."":

Can anyone remember how long the Republican party resisted confirmation process for Merritt Garland? And how long did they spend on Gorsuch's confirmation after Trump nominated him?
