Photos inside the east wing of the White House over the decades.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/26/politics/white-house-east-wing-history

    excerpt:

Never mind that Trump has dismissed the East Wing as “a very small building” that was “never thought of as being much.” Brower and plenty of others saw it as a treasure. “I certainly had a lot of reverence for it because it was the first lady’s domain. It’s the only place she has to really call her own,” she said.

Trump designates Nigeria as 'country of particular concern' over widespread Christian persecution, killings

    excerpt:

President Trump announced Friday that he is designating Nigeria as a "country of particular concern," citing the widespread killings of Christians in the West African country.

"Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria," Trump posted to Truth Social. "Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a "COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN" — But that is the least of it."

    Article from February 2025.

How a land law sparked Elon Musk's accusations of 'genocide' against his home country

    excerpt:

"The issue also appears to have been on Trump’s radar for years. In 2018, he said he had directed then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to “closely study the large scale killing of farmers.”

But there is no evidence of such a killing spree, experts have said. In 2018, former U.S. Ambassador to South Africa Patrick Gaspard called the idea of a white genocide a disproven myth."

But Trump can act quickly to support of foreign strongarms he admires. He was quick to give billions in aid to the leader of Argentina.

He was also quick to tear down the east wing of the White House and replace the Lincoln bathroom with marble and gold.

Trump tells Defense Department to 'prepare for possible action' in Nigeria

    excerpt:

“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” Trump wrote on social media.

“If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!” Trump added.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth replied to Trump's social media post with a "Yes sir."

Trump sounds like Putin who was accusing people in Ukraine of commiting genocide on Russians and using it as an excuse to do a full invasion of Ukraine.

Trump once again tells Omar to leave the country.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/01/trump-ilhan-omar-somalia-00632599

    excerpt:

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that the president has suggested Omar should be removed from the country.

“You know I met the head of Somalia, did you know that?” he told reporters at the Oval Office in September. “And I suggested that maybe he’d like to take her back. He said ‘I don’t want her.’”

It's another one of Trump's fables.

It's similar to his claim in 2024 that 'his people' contacted an unnamed manager of the McDonald's in San Francisco that Harris had worked at 40 years earlier, who is supposedly still working at the same unspecified McDonald's, and saying that the manager didn't remember Harris (supposedly proving that she never worked there).

    Even better:

"Sir, I don't want her. We have enough trouble here in Somalia with sharks attacking people in sinking electric boats.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-sized-for-a-convention-center-not-a-ballroom

    excerpt:

At 90,000 square feet — nearly two football fields — the new addition will dwarf the 55,000 square-foot mansion. It's also far more space than would typically be needed for a ballroom for the 1,000 guests Trump has said he wants the new room to hold. Official drawings show an ornate banquet hall, but its size suggests something more like a convention center space or hotel conference center. Officials say the structure will also include offices and other facilities, but haven’t provided details.

Exclusive | House Republicans exploring ways to prevent Mamdani from being sworn in as NYC mayor

    excerpt:

"The New York Young Republican Club is pushing to prevent the NYC mayoral frontrunner from taking the oath of office Jan. 1 under an idea floated this summer.

It cites language in the post-Civil War 14th Amendment to the Constitution barring from office anyone who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or who has “given aid or comfort to the enemies.” The group argues that Mamdani’s own statements calling to resist ICE could violate the prohibition."

Trump did it blatantly with his insurrection at the Capitol, plus afterwards by coddling and pardoning his rioters.

Yet Trump is in office again.

    https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/car...-trumps-bathroom-reveal-amid-shutdown-9560189

    excerpt:

“Millions of people are being kicked off of food assistance and millions can't afford health care anymore. But don't worry everyone! Trump got a new bathroom,” Democratic commentator Harry Sisson wrote on X. “So tone deaf, out of touch, and disgusting,” he added.

Ron Filipowski, editor in chief of the anti-Trump media outlet MeidasTouch said, “We are in a serious govt shutdown, but instead of negotiating, Trump posted several pics of his WH bathroom remodel today.”

“Donald Trump actually cares more about his toilet than he does about fixing your healthcare,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York wrote on X.

Americans may go hungry, but Trump’s $300 million ballroom proceeds apace - The Korea Times

    excerpt:

"During previous shutdowns going back at least 20 years, the government made sure to continue to provide food assistance to the most vulnerable citizens. But the Trump administration said it will not tap emergency funds that are available to pay for federal SNAP benefits.

Meantime, while low-income people go hungry, there is no stopping Trump’s plan to build a $300 million ballroom at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Despite the shutdown, construction crews demolished the East Wing of the White House to make way for the 90,000-square-foot building — which will dwarf the 55,000-square-foot main section of the White House.

Trump continues to remake the so-called People’s House into a residence more in line with his gaudy taste. The Rose Garden has been paved over, and the Oval Office has been transformed into a gilded cage.

The Palace of Versailles-like makeover fits with Trump’s disregard for average workers, even in red states: Let them eat cake!"
