What matters legally is the behavior of Trump and his associates surrounding the alleged incident. The vagueness of a story of Cohen and his setting up an LLC suggests he wants to conceal something and hints at various scenarios that could involve bribery, money laundering, illegal campaign contribution, and extortion. Those are the potential problems that someone like Trump could face that stem from unscrupulous attitude and behavior of him and his associates. He has brought his personal and business life behavior to the White House which undergoes a high level of scrutiny. The following is speculation: Trump could have coerced Stormy into making a false statement that she never had sex with him, which would be a bribe. Cohen could have committed money laundering to cover up the real intent of the transactions.. Stormy or someone representing her could have extorted money from Trump in return for her silence. Failing to report transactions that were for the purpose of the campaign is a crime. The LLC could have been used in an illegal manner.
A good historical example of how quickly situations can unravel is Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. Nixon's situation had elements of money laundering, cover-up, obstruction of justice, abuse of power, influence of witnesses via payment of money and favors to them, misuse of the CIA and DOJ, attempting to create false dictaphone evidence, and makng misleading or false statements to investigators. He proposed creating a Cuban committee as a way of laundering hush money to those who were involved with Watergate to conceal the crime. Nixon was accused of giving favored treatment to solicitor general Robert Bork who was alleged to have been promised by Nixon to be nominated for the U.S. Supreme Court as payment for Bork firing special prosecutor Archibald Cox.
Well, my initial comment was not legal talk; however, now that we are talking legal positions and theories: I will say that Cohen could be sanctioned by his state's bar association or disciplinary counsel. If he formed a shell company for the purpose of a crime, he's finished in the lawyer business. Failing to report campaign money is a crime that would lead straight to Trumpy. What Mueller gets out of a Manafort plea deal could make all this small potato. Mueller just dropped 20 charges against Gates which had been filed just last week. Gates must have really caved big time and gate Mueller some real juicy stuff. To me it looks like Trump will quit to avoid embarrassment.
Jared Kushner stripped of security clearance by General Kelly. At least four countries have been determined to have researched ways to manipulate Kushner due to his ineptitude, business deals, and financial problems. Kushner's clearance has been dropped from top secret to secret, all other White House aides were also demoted.
Extensive ties to organized crime and an elaborate cover up of crimes committed to gain the White House.
just a rumor, but supposedly Kushner is $1 billion in debt. how ironic would it be if kushner was found guilty of some foreign entanglement, and ended up in prison, like his daddy?
The director of the National Security Agency reveals he has no orders from Trump to stop Russian hacking or interference with elections.
Fancy Bear...remember Fancy Bear the Russian cyber attack group behind the DNC hacks? They're now attacking North American and European diplomats. BTW, has Trump put those bi-partisan Russian sanctions in place yet??????? Or ordered the NSA to take action? Just asking.
Hope Hicks to resign. Another one of Trump's 'best and brightest'. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...8e748f892c0_story.html?utm_term=.d1b829f172ca
Hope Hicks, Trump's communications Director, quits. (It's hard keeping up with this stuff.) This after she admitted to lying for Trump yesterday.
Hope Hicks was promoting Ivanka's fashion line and Trump's real estate line before she joined the Trump campaign and administration. She looked attractive to Trump so he made her communications director. 6 things you may not know about Hope Hicks, who plans to resign as Trump's White House communications director Zameena Mejia February 28, 2018 6 things to know about Hope Hicks, who plans to resign as White House communications director "In 2012, Hicks worked for Hiltzik Strategies, the public relations firm that represented Ivanka Trump's luxury fashion lines at the time, reports the Hartford Courant. The same firm allowed her to work PR for the Trump real estate brand, immediately after which Trump asked Hicks to join his campaign. As the Trump Organization's communications director, Ivanka Trump featured Hicks on her brand's style blog."
Hicks can now craft a pleasant PR statement about her departure, like she did about Trump Jr. supposedly wanting to talk to Russians out of the goodness of his heart about Russian adoptions (not about dirt on Clinton) and her sugar-coated version of Rob Porter (another best and brightest person of Trump and whom Hicks was dating) who resigned after being accused of domestic abuse.
